My 2 cents: Ham and Pineapple pizza is awesome. Pineapple cider is all right but usually too sugary. Had this pineapple ale once though that was just amazing. Very subtle pineapple flavor but that made it really refreshing.
This has me slightly worried....Melo as a 3rd option is very dangerous. I always think of how good Melo has been for Team USA when he's playing with players like LeBron, Wade, Cp3, Kobe (2008 and 2012 teams) and I feel that he would be REALLY good with PG13 and Westbrook. I mean if OKC gets to the WCF, we have to worry about getting PG13...as of now I see them only going to the 2nd round...adding Melo might get them to the WCF.
I see the same problem there as it would be in Houston. Basically three ball dominant guys with PG being the most facilitator like guy. Makes it more realistic that this thing implodes. Olympics for 8 games or so ain't a 82 game season taking a seat back.
I can't begin to imagine what a team with Carmelo and Westbrook looks like trying to share the ball. Paul George might never get to have it.
Every time I see OKC rumors I wonder how the heck can they make these trades with the amt of garbage they have on their squad and yet Presti seems to always find a way lol. No picks to trade till 2022 or something and bunch of overpaid role players and yet they can still be rumored to be able to get a Melo trade done....quite impressive
Melo is old. That's the only thing that separates him from WB. The point is, two hyenas is one greedy pack. PG wouldn't wanna have that for another year when he can be the Lion King taking his lion share in his own jungle packed of full obedient submissive young cubs. I'm always confused as to the hate Melo gets. When you see him dominate for USA, it's as a finisher and off the ball player. He has amazing efficiency in that role and he has never had the opportunity to play with a playmaker of westbrook or George's ability (apart from that one year with iverson). He is absolutely a great fit for them as a 3rd option. His days of being a 1st option are finished, but he can put up 20 with good efficiency for a contender and be a net positive. If they get him, they would've taken Oladipo and Taj Gibson from their starting lineup and replaced them with Paul George and Melo. A lineup of Westbrook, Roberson, George, Melo, Adams, loses nothing on the defensive end from last year, but becomes a much, much better offensive team. If they can get it to happen for Kanter, McDermott and a 1st, they come out way ahead. Westbrook/Felton Roberson/Abrines George/Grant Melo/Patterson Adams Also, I think Westbrook gets the harsh end of the stick for last season alot. He didnt' have much help on the offensive end and over did things alot, however he was still one of the best players in the world and an extremely potent offensive player. He has shown in the past that he can be succesful with other great players and I see no reason why George or Melo couldn't be succesful with him.
amen, svtzr. melo has been GREAT off the ball (with team usa, for example). if houston or okc gets him, he won't be a problem--at least not for them. his teams have always been so devoid of real shot-creating talent that he was asked to do things that aren't his strength. his d has never been impressive, but i think the stuff about him being a ballhog is overstated. as you said, he's a finisher. others should be in charge of initiating offense. and i think he'd be more than ok with it. agree on westbrook, too.
All i know is if were talking anyone beating GSW its SAS or bust for melo. Anyone else will be a cool story but thats pretty much it kinda harshly and straight.
I actually think Spurs could take a step back this year to 4th in the west unless they get Kyrie. Kinda shocked they signed pau to a 3 year 48m deal. Also, I feel you are really underselling OKC's potential here. With Melo, OKC is a really interesting matchup vs GSW. Defensively they should be one of the top teams in the league and will roll out: Roberson on Curry Westbrook on Klay George on Durant Melo on Green Adams on Zaza When GSW go small with Iggy swap out Adams for Patterson and they still match up well. I'm not worried about Melo on Green, if Green is trying to beat you offensively 1 on 1 vs Melo, on a team with Curry, Durant and Klay as your 1st, 2nd and 3rd option, you're doing somethng right. Where I think they can get into a little bit of trouble is that Curry/Green pick and roll, trying to swap Curry onto Melo. But at that point you have George, Adams and Westbrook as your help defenders. Just tell Melo to show hard on Curry so he can't get a shot off. The deadly Curry/Durant pick and roll is as nullified as possible with OKC, you have Roberson and George guarding it - good luck! You aren't getting a better wing defensive pairing in the league, so if GSW score on that play efficiently - nothing is stopping them. You ask Westbrook to chase Klay around, which isn't ideal for his energy levels, but in saying that he doesn't need to be a one man team on the offensive end this year. Likewise, Melo isn't carrying all the scoring burden on OKC either and can put a little more effort in on the defensive side like he has done with Team USA in the past. Lastly, Adams is very underrated when it comes to his mobility, he is one of the better PnR defending bigs and a good inside defensive prescence as well, who can usually stay on the court when other teams go small. On the offensive end, Westbrook, George and Melo are great players, Adams is a good PnR big. Really the big weakness is Roberson's shooting, can he space the floor enough. Although if George, Melo and Patterson are all hitting 3's it shouldnt be too much of an issue to have him cutting off a driving Westbrook.
