...when Kuzma canned that buzzer beating trey, I just shook me head and quietly laughed my a** off. Unfreakingbelievable, the gall to take that shot. Van Gundy with no hesitation cast him for the game MVP. Play him at the 3. Kuzma is not in the weight class of legit 4's in The League. Stokes was just treating him like a rag doll in the paint.

That buzzer beating 3 at the end of the 3rd was SICK. A thing of freaking beauty. Horry / Mamba like clutch.

He is a lottery-quality player and deserved to be on the first team. I am truly impressed.

I remember being impressed by the initial highlights that were shared after we drafted him, but I had never heard of him before & definitely didn't expect this level of athlete.. Hope he finds continued success.

That's when I started honking him too LakerFanIam. My eye test watching those highlights said he looked like an all around, coordinated, multi skilled, athletic 6'10" player who had a good stroke and could shoot. I'm never bashful about honking early.

Raise your hand if you're digging the fact Kuz is even being referenced in comparison by some to Klay freaking Thompson. A 6'10" (yeah rounding up :)) version of Klay. Do we even realize the magnitude of what that would mean if this is truly who he is with that shot of his? Pump the brakes sure, BUT damn he did it the whole tournament, is physical, has a chip on his shoulder and there's just no reason to think right now that a shooter approaching that kind of caliber is not "possibly" in his future. With the no conscience confidence under pressure to let it rip.

Time to pick a leader of the Kuzma wagon. Another late draft steal by the Lakers

Klay is, if not the, then one of the top five shooters now and probably one of the top ten shooters of all time. I'm not ready to draw that comparison after seven exhibition games from Kuzma. I think an Odom/Horry hybrid is more appropriate, but of course I'm not saying he's as good as either or both players.

I do completely and utterly admit I was wrong though. Any doubt I had whatsoever has been completely and 100% expunged. This guy is a legitimate player and needs to play minutes with the regular team. I think right now he plays the backup 3/4 spot depending on match-ups, but he really does make Nance and Randle expendable given his unique skillset. What a player. I'm eager to see how he adjusts to NBA defense.

Yeah I wasn't the one to make it, just noting how kool that it started being tweeted around with some in media who were following SL, reaching for a Klay Thompson comparison .... vs picking some other player.

Don't want to nitpick too much, but I already find Kuzma a better shooter than Odom. Maybe the numbers don't back it up, but I don't feel like LO shot it remotely like this until the year he won 6th man, and the year prior. And I will defend Odom's handles to the grave, which I think are guard-quality. Kuzma looks great pushing if off a offensive rebound, but I'd love to see more. I like the Horry comparison, I think Rob said he liked it himself on sportsnet.

As much as I've wanted Randle to flourish here, I think he is the expendable one. He would probably fetch the most as an asset as well. Kuz needs to be locked up, because I think the FO uncovered something special. I am not sure who said it, but I'm sure it was said here. Might have been you real. But Ball is doing things in the summer league that is expected of 2nd year players. I find that a tangible, witnessed thing to get excited about - and I'm ready to add Kuzma in that mix.

most people hated this pick on draft night.

As usual, Laker fans should know better considering the teams recent streak of steals in the draft.

I'm very eager to see if he can resemble any of that against NBA caliber players. Imagine if he can...lol

If he can resemble 50% of that, he's a rotation player in his first year.

I was scratching my head at the pick on draft night as I wasn't too familiar with him. Kuzma more than erased any doubts about him. I think his game will translate and we've got a real player on our hands.
