No crow need be eaten. As long as a fanbase we can all enjoy and pull for the kid together through good and bad.
It's summer league, we all still have to stay grounded, but at the same time we can also be excited for this kid's clear potential. You never write off a rookie from a terrible summer league debut, and you never pronounce him a star from an awesome summer league performance. The reasons so many are high on him are on display though, he has triple double potential on any given night. That said he's still not hitting the NBA 3, so he's going to have to work on that. If it's simply adjusting to the range, we'll see, and if mechanics need to be tweaked, they probably will be. We saw Ingram change his form slightly this offseason, he's young enough to be flexible in that way still.
I'm going to probably rewatch the game and give more thoughts tomorrow. Short answer: this kid is special.
Special is the best adjective. When I can't think of the right word to describe a transcendaby special player I just say he has "IT"
Very special. Light years ahead of anyone on the court tonight. He has the floor vision of the elites. Magic isn't the only one dancing.
Special is the word I find myself using a lot. "It" factor too. His assists should go up when he's with the regular team. Glad to see him shoot more often. Love the aggressiveness. Able to keep others involved while forcing things. Love it.
Once this kid gets stronger and adapts to NBA 3 and speed (which I believe he's tailored for) everyone will wish they drafted him. He's the best player in the draft based on changing a franchise. He is going to be a franchise player, this is not me hyping him up, this is me being critical and observing. The kid has it. What's amazing he's only 19. I pray and hope no injuries ever derail this kids future, Gunnar better get him stronger and conditioned before regular season starts. Let's go Lakers!
I don't mind this being his last game in SLV, we've seen enough. Go back to Chino Hills and make 100 chin ups
With Zo's two breakout games, Kuz's emergence, and the KCP signing, I think it's safe to consider the possibility that Magic and Rob are doing ok so far.
