Well I guess jc will have to prove to magic and Rob that he's improved defensively maybe he'll earn that starting spot
I don't think he's all that different than JC on offense, their averages are very close. The defensive end is what separates them though, and that's really important with Ball being a rookie having to guard some of the best players in the league all at that position, KCP will help with that some. Clarkson back to the bench, if he's not traded.
Reggie jackson is a pretty ball dominant guy. I think Pope will fit in very nicely with lonzo. Same goes for clarkson, but i think pope is gonna have a career year on both ends. Im fired up with this signing.
And also it'll be good for practice for Lonzo to learn defensive principles from kcp and the defensive effort will be contagious. Kcp is contagious on d to what Lonzo is contagious on o
Great signing. This is the best FA signing we've had in years; and while I hope I don't overrate him, he does fill a lot of boxes we needed. Props to Magic and Rob. Great job. Nailed this one.
Honestly this is pretty much a perfect signing. Great back court complementary player for Ball, one year deal, young player with upside. I love it!
He's a bulldog defensively. Guards 1-3; can space the floor adequately, too. A much needed breath of fresh air defensively...
I was honestly dreading the idea of Clarkson/Ball as starting back court because of the D or lack thereof. KCP should help us immensely.
awesome signing. absolutely shocked he took a 1 year deal but im not complaining i hope this is just the first step in this organization finally making a commitment to defense. KCP is just the guy to start that process
Really excited to throw out a KCP, Nwaba, Ingram, Nance & Lopez lineup. Have Ingram bring the ball up and just lock down defensively. Hustle play city!
Ok, just watched some highlight videos and now I'm actually excited. Dude seriously is super athletic. I think running the floor with Lonzo can really help unlock his potential. I hope he's in the gym all summer to refine that jumper too because it's really not bad. Hopefully that 35% last year was a sign of progression and not just an exception in a contract year. I gotta wonder though, why did Detroit renounce him? I don't understand why they wouldn't at least want the flexibility to retain him depending on the offer he got as a RFA. Im guessing they're banking on Kennard being a star so they didn't wanna lock up money at that position?
ball/pope/ingram/randle/lopez is a pretty nice lineup fellas. If ball can live up to a fraction of the hype, Ingram/randle improve from last year, this team will be much improved. Still a ways to go to be a playoff team, but we are going in the right direction.
