Wow, finally got to where I could watch the clips. Nice player, nice touch, solid handle, great range, solid passing. Looks like a great pickup. I'm going to assume that one of Nance, Julius, and Kuzma isn't on the roster by the end of the year. I don't see how we can play all 3, but maybe injuries make it a non issue.... and we keep them all this year. I continue to be impressed by the scouting department and our draft decisions.
I called it when we drafted this kid, since I've been watching him in college improving year by year. As I've stated, KUZMA will start over Randle by the All Star break. I wouldn't be surprise if Pelinka decides to ship Randle by the trade deadline. I love Randle, but unless he improves his jumpshot and learn how to use his right hand, I don't see him as a Laker for long.
I took note of it like @SeasonVet24 asked. I'm coming around. There's a lot to prove between now and the regular season, but his performance right now should make Nance and Randle very nervous. If Kuzma can continue to shoot like that while providing excellent passing, it'll be hard to keep him on the bench. That being said, the Lakers need to find a home for Randle. They're not going to bench him and hurt his value. This season is a punt anyway until next summer. Guys like Clarkson and Randle and... maybe even Deng need to see minutes so other teams can find value in them.
What about a crazy lineup where all 3 can play Here's a crazy lengthy lineup Ball Ingram Kuzma Randle Nance
How about this: with Kuzma breaking out, I'm starting to like the idea of a lineup of: Ball/???/Ingram/Kuzma/Randle where that SG might be Hart for his ability to board and his effort defensively. I could see Clarkson too or obviously if we traded for Wade or signed KCP. That'd give us five players who want to board and push the ball. As of today Kuzma is the only shooter, but hopefully we see significant improvements from Ingram and Randle. Ideally everyone can shoot, but just having a couple while having guys who can get to the rim will help tremendously. Defensively if we just see the sort of activity we're seeing early in Summer League, we'll improve at least a little. The real problem would be rim protection, but we'd be able to switch almost everything defensively and they're athletic and long enough to get into passing lanes. This is obviously counting on a big jump for Randle, but him showing this type of versatility is probably the only way he stays in LA for long. It's all very early of course, but a lineup like ^that would be fun to watch this season I think. Ball, Kuzma, Ingram, and Randle are anywhere from good to great passers. The ball movement should really pop. That lineup should be able to run teams out of the gym on the break.
I'm not ready to say Kuzma is "breaking out" yet. This is Summer League after all. But Kuzma does seem to be a nice fit with a player like Ball. Also, with that lineup rim protection would be non-existent. I know you touched on it, but it would be BRUTAL.
2 guys our with cramp. Does our staff not understand how hydration works in extreme heat? This game is going to be horrible, almost zero reason to watch now with only Zubac, Bryant, Dozier, and Nwaba left as actual possible Lakers this season.
I was actually looking forward to 7:30pm tonight, I kept looking at my clock and thinking can't wait for tonight! Now I'm looking at the clock like shiiii I gotta wait till Wednesday hoping Lonzo plays. I just realized how excited I am right now about our young lakeshow players especially in zo. I haven't been this excited for an upcoming season since we traded for pau!
depends on who you asking bout Hydration, maybe our trainer has same definition as Marcelus when it comes to that dept. lol
