Hit one high banking running hook driving on the right side of rim and just missed another Magic vs C Bags baby sky hook across the key. Kyle's got a nice repertoire of offensive skills already in addition to knocking down the great looking Js from downtown. Good passing skills. Solid defense and great motor. :Headbang:
Was it Jesse Buss who was high on him and convinced Magic and Rob to draft him? Awesome late 1st round pick. Smart player. Polished scorer.
Eff yes on Kuzma...definiteLy a late bloomer Abeer. Guy has a ceiling to him still no doubt. Hope he takes a page out of the Draymond book.
He's advanced on the court and still has further potential...great situation for us. I knew I had a good feeling and trust in our scouting department. Promising so far.
Kuzma's greatest asset is his passing ability, not his shooting actually. When he and Ball were on the court together last night the ball practically flew around the court. Both of them make quick, efficient passes and find angles that the defense has a hard time fighting against. If you gave them teammates with better hands, the two of them could have had a few more assists. Still, Kuzma's shooting was lights out last night. He took 27 shots, but I really like that 5/10 outside shooting. I had read somewhere that he started out shooting 20% or less in college, but finished shooting over 40% from deep over the last 10 games or so. It looks like he made the adjustment, hopefully it continues. I also loved his defense on Tatum and especially Brown. I was getting pretty sick of hearing about how solid Brown has been and Kuzma made that guy look downright below average. Brown showed some decent play before, but when presented with actual talent, Brown was unable to create any offense. Kuzma meanwhile showed some great feet defensively that I hope can also translate to the NBA. Very impressive. He hasn't completely won me over, but he's making me eat crow already. with his versatile showing.
I wasn't very sure about the Kuzma pick either just from watching his highlights, but it's become apparent just from the two games that he will look much better out there with Ball next to him. Kuzma is very much in the mold of the kind of player Ball had around him at UCLA. He and all of our picks this year were drafted because of the potential to accentuate Ball' game, and by default, the way Luke wants the team to play, and so far, Kuz has done so in each game. Very impressive indeed.
I know they are nothing alike except the hype, but I can't stop thinking about Ed O'Bannon. Just a random, incorrect thought.
All this talk about "hype" - I'm hyping this kid up. No G-League. Throw him on the 15-man roster. He's a gamer...
He outscored Tatum yesterday. Sure it took 26 shots to do it, but he did it. Seriously though, I like what I've seen from him a lot. Nice to see him draining so many threes for one, but I really like the versatility he's shown aside from that. He cuts to the hoop well, he rebounds better than I expected (offensively as well). I keep saying it's just summer league, but you still want to see your guys playing well of course. He's already better than Anthony Brown will ever be.
^26 shots? Really? Kuzma... Lantz would say "never met a shot he doesn't like". Kid's got moxie and plays like he drank 10 cans of Monster.
have to agree here, all the top 5 are showing great potential and even the later picks are showing they're legit nba players.
My buddy and I were watching the draft and chanting Kuz-ma, Kuz-ma as the picks went into the 20s. Elated he's with us. Loved his defense and his activity. Fast feet, especially for a big guy. Very polished and has a picture perfect stroke. Although the hype machine heralded Tatum after the game, I thought Kuz was the more impressive player.
I missed the game but was hoping to catch a highlight clip to see what all the fuss is about. Anyone have a link?
