I just think we've drafted young guys based on potential last few years. - DAR, Ingram, Lonzo, all these guys need time to develop. They've all been hyped like crazy, harden/curry, kd, Jason Kidd - just pump the breaks and let them develop. We will suck and lose games and they'll have growing pains but they'll be better for it in the long term.
Well it's going to have to be part of his game. Just because it hasn't been part of his game doesn't mean he can't/won't add it. Again, rookie, lots of room for improvement, he has the height, length and hops to get better at going to the hoop. Ingram didn't start off last season dunking in dudes faces either.
Great bounce back game for him. He passes up too many shots but I think that will come with time. Great passing and better D than advertised IMO.
hard to put a finger on how he looked better, but he did. shot still MIA. lots of clever little plays on both ends, though.
He's gonna be a GREAT team/help defender. GREAT. 1-1 he is going to get burned like nearly every PG in the NBA.
His vision one some that pass was Kuzma in transition where he threaded the needed was special - I can see the vision. Yes, passed up way too many shots. He needs to be more selfish in that respect. Concerned about the 3-point shooting. Otherwise, a great All-Around Game. Not completely sold and it will have to take the regular season to convince me, but tonight, it's a good start.
Very nice bounce back game, it was good to see him run the team with Ingram not able to play. He had quite a few sweet assists, he rebounded well, had some really nice defensive possessions, and got a triple double. His outside shot still isn't falling, and he passed up a couple layups being too unselfish, but still a very encouraging game overall of what he can bring to a team when guys are ready for his passes and knocking down their shots.
I'm wishing he would attack the basket around the screens a little harder and look to score. Everyone is expecting him to pass so he needs to keep defenses honest. Also looks like his conditioning is not at 100%, walking down some plays, could be affecting his shot as well.
I think watching tape with the coaches will help him with this. He could have had 2-3 more easy buckets at the rim if he attacked
THE RETURN OF THE BUST.... lol jokes aside he played like a maestro out there. Everytime he was on the court we were winning, and tempo was fire! He didn't even try that hard and got himself a triple double. His shot will get better with conditioning, watch out league it's Zo time! However magic and Rob need to get shooters
Agreed that he will need to attack the basket more, it's not his instinct, but I hope he's pushed to do it. And he definitely got tired in the first half and then again in the 4th. I have no doubt he'll get into game shape though, he was at UCLA and they played very fast.
