It just didn't flow as well as her stories usually do and she didn't bring it back around strongly at the end it just sort of puckered out.

She's a good writer and I hold her to a high standard. :D

writing quality is important; sometimes when i'm reading a piece i'll stop halfway through because it's so terribly written.

Great read indeed. And goes back to the idea that I'm sure there is a lot more to LaVar (a lot more good than bad) that most people don't realize but that Rob and Magic where able to see and hear it for themselves.

I liked the following quotes the most:

I know exactly what it looks like with someone missing part of their head (cranial part). While my dad was in the hospital recovering from his stroke his neighbor in the hospital room had part of his cranial removed and always had to where a helmet. Not a fun sight to see. It's not gross, but you don't forget it. This quote just stood out to me because I know exactly what that looks like. The Ball family is handling all that really well.

Take a lot of heart and courage to handle everything on his plate. He can count on me that I'll be one of those fans who will be more than patient to see how he develops. Fun and encouraging signs ahead!

Looked good out there. Pushed the pace with accurate passes. His shot was off but that's the least of my concerns.

Some people never understand the problem with Russell was between his ears. It was never about his game.

Are people ever gonna let Russell go or just keep b****ing about a guy who lets be honest didn't do much for the Lakers?

Seriously. It's ridiculous. People acting like we traded Kobe f***ing Bryant or something.

That's coming from someone who was a big Russell fan and I get being dissapointed initially, but for f***'s sake people he isn't a Laker. Move on.

I don't have to talk about Russell to understand that Ball was okay. His shot wasn't falling, but other than that I thought he played well. Defense is going to be an adjustment but he showed decent instincts. I thought he could have been more aggressive on the glass.

He has to be better, but if he knocks down a couple more open threes people look at this game much differently. He also needs to not play with Blue. Yikes with that guy.

I'm not sure he could have had a worse debut as far as the box score and appearances to fans who are already not fans of his.

That said, I'm not worried, he will adjust, the skills you can't teach are there, and he has the tools to figure out the rest. I put very little stock in summer league, Ingram looked invisible at times last summer league.

Can't defend. Can't shoot. Kind of like the scouting report.
