Well that was at the trade deadline. Bird probably though he'd be able to convince Paul to stay and probably hoping he made an all-nba team for the super max contract.
Garbage can's are useful every day, somewhere for someone. I think it was an insult to garbage can's to compare. Mosgov was as useful as two legged rabbit.
Is Indiana that he'll bent on not sending him to the Lakers they took OKC's subpar players...what the hell man. If OKC is bounced out in the first round, George is leaving for sure. But I don't know if he'd join the lakers...thr young guys better perform I'm sure he doesn't want to wait another 2-3 years of player development if he does choose to come here
George is a Laker in exactly ONE year from now. Book it, write it down, take a picture, I don't care.
This is a great point. Sarver has consistently NOT paid for a competitive team. Signing Westbrook to an extension and re-signing George would be EXTREMELY expensive for them. They need to shed more salary than this. I know they just turned s*** into gold, but how long can they do that? I don't see people eager to help them now. And yes Indiana is a spiteful, stupid franchise. Their fans should demand Pritchard's head, not to mention crucify Bird. I'll be honest i doubt the validity of these supposed trade offers that Boston sent Indiana, but they certainly sent better offers than this. This is garbage. A massively overpaid Oladipo and a below average 1st round pick? What a horrible, horrible move. I hope they're happy. When Paul George signs here next summer, I hope the two games we play against Indiana he averages 60 points.
I'm happy for our young guys they can just play freely now. To be honest though George seems like the kind of guy that'll chase what's shiny, bright and hottest at the moment. The lakers better be that.
When Paul George is a Laker next year, the Pacers not only would have received dong for Paul George, but they would have assisted the Lakers in not giving up a damn thing and still getting their franchise player. They lose royally worse than they would have had they just traded PG to LA. So, suck on that Indy. And I am going to go watch Game 6 of the 2000 NBA Finals in your honor.
Echoing a lot of you fine folks here: This is very good news for Laker fans! Probably the best realistic scenario outside of us trading for him. PG goes from indy to an even smaller market with one other stud player who dominates the ball?? Are we dreaming?? The only way I see him re-upping in OKC is if they go on a miracle run to the Finals. And unless something crazy happens to add another star to that squad, they're not getting out of the 2nd round at best. Now we're well positioned to land PG and not have to lose any assets. Yep...
If the Lakers waive Tariq Black this week, come summer 2018 they have cap to sign 2 max guys out of George, CP3, Lowry, Cousins, LeBron And still keep Ball , Clarkson, Ingram, Randle (slightly tricky case), Nance.
