-Would just like to say, heard a few mins ago that the Lakers are pretty stoked about George going to OKC.
I can also see how OKC doesn't lose a whole lot either if PG leave to LA. They DID NOT like Victor's contract so this trade at least allows them to clear that if PG leaves.
ESPN already spinning it: " Breaking News Sources: George heads to Thunder in megadeal Pacers All-Star Paul George is heading to the Thunder, as the sides have agreed to a blockbuster trade ahead of the start of free agency, sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. " MEGADEAL
I think this is Ainge throwing a fit leaking to the press all the great offers he supposedly offered. I somehow doubt they're true, but he's really pissed.
So, this is my take.... OKC knows WB bolts and is OK with it -- they decided to rebuild. Otherwise why would you trade your starting SG and get an LA recruiter in the locker room. So, there is an actual chance we get both of them.
This deal makes it look like Chicago did a fine job dealing Jimmy. Mega blockbuster whatever. Just because it's PG doesn't mean it is especially with two unknowns on the other side of the deal. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
I hate to say it but I think PG moving to OKC helps his odds in making one of the All NBA team. He will be the clear second option for a team that can win 55+ games. I think he can get one of the spots to the all NBA 3rd team.... .... wouldn't that allow OKC to offer the supermax to both Westbrook and PG?
