This would be a big loss. The equivalent of the Lakers losing Lamar Odom during the Kobe/Gasol championship run IMO.

Yeah I think he's as good as gone. 2 rings and a finals mvp, time for him to get paid.
They are going to have to find a replacement in Sefolosha, Tony Allen, CJ Miles, or find a rookie worth developing like McCaw. The lineup of death will surely take a big hit.

Hopefully Klay follows suit in a couple of years.

I know he's content with his role now, but that could easily change in two years especially with this luxury tax continuing to be a problem.

Yeah they talked about him this morning on ESPNLA710, they brough up a good point that GSW would probably try and trade him if he's going to be a free agent. But Mychal said that if Klay is a free agent, he will try to push Klay south to LA.

Both sides are still optimistic it gets worked out.

Mychal Thompson said the Warriors as a group are going to do everything to stay together.

Which makes sense why KD is going to wait as late as he can to sign an extension because I could see him being flexible with lowering his salary if it meant it gives their FO more wiggle room to sign Andre back. KD and Andre are really close.

if iggy were to leave, that's a lot of cash eaten up on the market. for example, the team that spends 12 million on iggy isn't spending on tony allen. who says gs doesn't get him for MLE or less?

This tweet is just a tactic from Iggy agent trying to get some leverage by making others teams believe they can sign him if they increase their offer ...

Lacob always says he was going to be fine paying the tax penalties

I wouldn't count out him leaving though, he's physically meeting with a bunch of teams and has taken calls from everyone else.

The Warriors were set to meet Saturday with free agent forward Andre Iguodala in Los Angeles, according to reports.

Golden State is reportedly prepared to offer Iguodala between $13 million and $15 million per year over three years. That third year could be big given that the Warriors had initially wanted to sign him to a two-year deal, which would have ensured money is available when Klay Thompson’s contract ends in 2019.

The meeting and offer were first reported by Bay Area News Group.

A budding entrepreneur, Iguodala has spent the first day of free agency putting pressure on Golden State to up its original offer. He has reportedly met with San Antonio, after reaching out to the Spurs, and Houston. According to ESPN’s the Undefeated, the Rockets extended Iguodala an offer.

To offer him a competitive deal, Houston would likely need to free up more salary, and it appears unlikely that Iguodala has landed the big offer he was eyeing. At 33, this could be his last chance for a lucrative NBA contract.

Whether they re-sign Iguodala is the most pressing question facing the Warriors. They have already agreed to bring back Stephen Curry on a five-year, $201 million deal, Shaun Livingston on a three-year, $24 million contract and David West on a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum of $2.3 million.

To ensure Golden State has flexibility in negotiations with Iguodala, Kevin Durant is waiting to re-sign with the team. Reports have surfaced that if they can’t bring back Iguodala the Warriors may target Rudy Gay. In 30 games with Sacramento last season, Gay averaged 18.7 points and 6.3 rebounds.

^^ great news for us if Iggy stays in GS and gets a 3 year deal. I doubt they're dumb like Indy and hold onto Klay and just let him walk with nothing in return.
