Y'all act like your significant other never slept with anyone else before you. If I had to wait a year for Sara Underwood to be mine while she does whatever the hell she wants, I'm cool wit dat.
Just cause theres a chance she might date someone else while shes in another state doesnt mean she has to bang them... And if so oh well cause a one night stand(in this case 1 year) doesn't mean its forever. If anything that one night stand could be a thought process of," well, atleast i got that out of my system and i cant wait till im in LA with Magic and sand in my toes while sipping on a strawberry daquiri". People date all the time for the hell of it and to have fun, doesn't mean it ever had a LEGIT chance to workout.
i've been wondering that since draft day. feel like this is the kind of thing on which owners can go over managers' heads. miss dr. buss in these times. yeah, not sure about that. i haven't seen a published offer that beats la's. notice that all reports are "indy's asking for..." not "indy turned down...". they turned down our offer. i'm guessing houston, boston, and cleveland have made inferior offers, else the deal would already be done. who blinks? i don't think ainge will (though he still might win--happens when you have all the cards). morey will throw whatever he's got (save capela, i'm guessing), and he will get creative with it. but he's still hamstrung by a few things. anyway, i still think george could turn up the heat on indy, but he hasn't. that's why i'm pessimistic. kobe told us to trade him to pluto. publicly. buss called his bluff, but still...george isn't doing the equivalent: publicly stating he wants the lakers and only the lakers. short of that, we're not in good position. and i can't share in the (very strange) wait around and expect to bang the hot chick narrative.
Yours truly lol. Mr metaphorically sarcastic with truth behind it. Turn back a page towards the bottom.
Nothing we didn't already know, but unless something drastic changes Lakers will have to wait a year to get Paul George. Source - Silver Screen & Roll.
I don't think this is any sort of pressure on Indiana, but it does cement their line in the sand. No Ball. No Ingram. Don't ask anymore, the answer is no. Like I've been saying: our best way forward now is to continue paving a way for him to get here. No rush anymore, but at the deadline I expect Clarkson to be moved. If Randle shows just the most amazing progress maybe he stays otherwise move him too. In fact maybe move him for sure at that point.
If we truly did offer them picks 27 & 28 + Clarkson or Randle & they turned that down, I really don't see how we could get a deal done now unless they really like one of our Rooks.. Hope to see ya in another year Mr. George.
^^^ I'm fine with that if they're smart with their signings this offseason & PG is being sincere about ending up a Laker.
I hope Magic didnt offend him too hard and told him you know what... Lets re-visit in summer league or AT WORST pre-season. Saying in translation, perhaps you can take your sunglasses off indoors genius and see whats really on the court and the talent youll getl(when hes leaving anyways).
this is why, despite some frustrations, we need to give the FO time to develop their plan. We can argue all day long over the validity of said plan, but ultimately we'll know in 1 year if it is working.
very important that this continues. but good news. i'm glad we made a couple days after the paul deal without george relocating. from the general tone of things, i don't think indy's been asking. meaning: we're calling, and they're saying "you're going to have to offer more". i'm guessing they already told us to stop calling if the first word out of your mouth isn't ingram or lonzo. not that i think that's right or fair. delicate dance. can't just shed everyone and win 20 games again, imo. as i said in an earlier rant, a player of george's stature hasn't jumped to a team this bad (that i can remember). i mean, unless you count lebron, but he did so with two other stars in their prime.
