Work on those legs kid. Seems to be enjoying himself.

Isn't it not smart though to play with your ear jewelry in place? One ill placed swipe down from a defender and OUCH and a ripped ear.

What's not to like about what we've seen so far? He actually looks like he's having fun doing rope drills, he's already impressed the teammates he's played with, and he's there at the presser to show support for his fellow rookies. Little things, but they matter.

Its these sort of things that make me buy into the hype. I don't care what this reporter or that analyst says about how Ball is going to be an allstar and our savior. I like hearing it from his teammates. That fact that everyone is already working together is great considering the season ended just weeks ago.

    Yep.

Either way, good to see Ball at the Press Conference.

I don't like hearing this stuff. Small windows shouldn't be what we judge these kids on. Magic said something similar about Kuzma and Kuzma's combine day. I'm glad he's not the only one making these decisions. I trust Rob and our scouting department to make the right calls.

IMO, unfair advantage (and I'm driving the Lonzo Ball bus). But they didn't go to other players homes, eat breakfast, meet their parents and neighborhood kids. If they did, do we still draft Lonzo? Because, when all things were on an even playing field, Magic says he wasn't sold.

As the President of the Lonzo Ball Fan Club, I'm happy it worked out, but don't think it's fair.

But remember Real, and I know you watched the presser, Rob also said about Kuzma that their scouting team had been watching him for years and told Rob and Magic they need to check this kid out. You can't tell me our scouting team didn't also do enough research into Lonzo both on and off the court.

I think we're taking Magic's quote and words too seriously and not looking at the bigger picture our whole scouting department put in front of our FO to make the decision at #2 and so on.

    yeah, ick...

who's to say that had you visited josh jackson's childhood home that you wouldn't be sold. most people are pretty good folks, generally speaking. almost everyone can appear that way for six hours.

i don't like hearing that this sort of thing was influential, even if it was on top of mountains of scouting. i'd rather hear: that was great, and it helped all of us feel more comfortable with each other, but the pick was based on a body of work we've evaluated in comparison with other relevant bodies of work.

if anything, the fact that the lakers agreed to go to his house for a second meeting was the clincher. if the first workout was disappointing or your scouts were dubious, you wouldn't have done it.

great day for the ball family, though. can't imagine a dream coming true like that--happens for so few. hopefully he takes advantage.

No I'm on board all the way with that. That's why I said I'm glad Magic isn't the only one in the room. Pelinka is too meticulous to let one thing change his mind. Our scouting department is too good to just take a guy based off one workout. I'm not sold on Kuzma but I'm open to being proven wrong.

    Gotcha.

And I agree with you, if we're taking Magic's exact quote at face value, you never want to make a decision just based on 1 combine game that Kuzma played well in. But I'm smarter and I know others are too hopefully to know there's a lot more too it that Magic isn't talking about where this wasn't based on just one great game.

Come on. DAR was at many pressers. There is video/pictures to prove it. He also went to D-League games to support.

This smearing campaign gets on my nerves.
