free up cap and pitch Hayward dammit...F'n stupid 2 max fa lebozo plan. Get Hayward, worry about pg in 18. Ingram can come off the bench or play him at the 4.
I'm actually in favor of the new FO plan (same as the old plan!) if it means no MozDeng ever again. I'd rather suffer through 1 year rentals and developing youth and trying to build from the draft and/or swinging for the fences on big free agents. I'm not good with giving MozDeng deals out that are so bad we have to dump players with Russell's potential that we put 2 years into to get rid of. It undoes all the work put in during the suffering.
Pitch me what the Lakers tell Hayward that convinces him to leave Utah and pass on both Boston and Miami.
Don't think it's that easy. If we then don't get Hayward we have given up at least useful players and then we suck even more and our pick that Boston owns gets even better...
The Lakers are not choosing to sign Hayward over waiting for LeBron in a year lol. Brandon isn't close to being able to play the 4 yet and why would we want him coming off the bench? Talk about stunting the kid's development.
we get him a movie role, where he is the star and we'll get him a statue in the middle of the labera tar pits lol and James/Pg are coming soon
thats next yr, Ingram would start with Hayward this yr. Like others have said, what PF in todays league actually play with power? Majority of the PF these days like to shoot 3's and are really SF pretending to be PF
it is that easy, you move JC and or Lopez for nothing in return. IF we dont get Hayward, whats the loss? Unless you mean Dlo, thats over and done with, nothing can bring that back. It doens't cost us much or anything to move JC/Lopez
if you guys aren't confident Magic/Rob can pitch Hayward, then would you guys be as skeptical in regards to PG if we didn't have all these rumors of him wanting to be a laker?
Another reference to supposedly PG reaching out to Klay Thompson about playing together on the Lakers. http://www.businessinsider.com/paul-george-reportedly-recruiting-klay-thompson-lakers-2019-2017-6 I just can't see PG being like ..... I wanna play for Lakers. I want to play for my home town Lakers. Indy trades me somewhere else I Will Not extend the contract. I will not extend a contract to any other team than the Lakers. Oh changed my mind, don't care about coming home to L.A. and playing for my home town Lakers any more. The last 4 years my dream has been to play with Gordon Hayward in Boston. See ya!! Does not make sense to me. GS has this locked up 2 more years. Then would be perfect for Klay to come to L.A. As always f*** LeBron and his cap and roster destroying salary being the 2nd major star to join PG in Los Angeles.
If George wasn't rumored to want to come here, then yes I'd have very serious doubts they could convince him to do it. We stink. It's a testament to our brand that George is even interested. If all this is about winning, we've never been the best fit. Even with LeBron and George, are we favorites to beat the Warriors? I'd say no. Convincing the first guy to come here is going to take that other player wanting to be a Laker and a cast of obviously great young talent.
Hayward going to Boston is seamless. PG? Not so much. Ainge isn't making that deal without and extension.
I agree. There's still a LOT of moving pieces here. I think part of this is clearly an effort to pressure the Lakers and part of it is legit. Should the C Bags pull this off, they'll have a very good team. I don't know if they're better than the Cavs, but they're very good. If Paul George is willing to leave potentially over 100 million dollars on the table to sign an extension and stay there, then hey he was never going to come here and on some level it's not worth us worrying about at that point. Disappointing, but we'll forge onward. Until it happens though, this game is far from over. How much is Boston really willing to give up if George doesn't sign an extension? What if Hayward stays in Utah? I'm not about to panic.
