That was super awkward. Lavar should play a bad guy, but they tried to have him go against The Miz who is one of the biggest heels in the company. Crowd didn't know whether they were supposed to boo Lavar or not so it was a really mixed reaction. And that reaction carried over to when they brought out Lonzo. He was supposed to get the crowd to pop, even mentioned something about being happy to be in the Staples Center as a Laker for the first time. But still a lot of boos.

And Lavar was pretty bad.Tried to go too overboard with the crazy character and his delivery was just way off for a live audience. I almost felt like WWE just sent out Ambrose to shut up Lavar and go to commercial break because when they came back from break, the Ball family was gone. Their segment just kinda ended abruptly and never really went anywhere.

Either WWE just totally mailed in the writing on that segment because it was only intended to get some social media buzz from the celebrity factor. Or Lavar was just losing the crowd and/or went off script so Vince decided to end it early.

No. Wrestling fans are disappointed that they had a lame celebrity segment shoved down their throats and taking time on the show without advancing any of the actual storylines.

Never mind. Just looked it up on some WWE forums (yup, I'm a big fan). The general reaction is that the segment was such a train wreck, and LaMelo's swearing is bound to be so controversial, that overall it was really entertaining and fans are glad it'll get more mainstream eyes towards the WWE product.

I'm still totally uninterested in wrestling, but I thought it was funny.

His kids got a kick out of it.

Kid #2 was missing. Curious as to why...

Lavar's whole marketing strategy was to act like a WWE heel, so an appearance on RAW makes perfect sense.

I don't like the guy but I love this quote:

"There are only two people who can beat me, and I'm both of them."

Similar to a favorite quote of mine: those that think they can and those who think they can't are both right.

My stance is softening on him. He's becoming less offensive and more entertaining.

Personally I love Uncle Lavar. I am impartial to UCLA bball so I didn't know what to think initially. But now that he is a Laker-dad I am glad he is on the team now.

I was born and spent most of my life in socal, and I've never really hated any city other than Sacramento or Boston - which is purely through the NBA, and ultimately flimsy because I've never been to Bos and have spent very little time in Sac. And growing up I've never really spent time thinking about other cities or places, let alone disliking or hating them. Lately I've lived outside of socal, and I will tell you this... outsiders are EAGER to talk CRAP about LA, not just through sport but as a city, region, etc. It's actually a little shocking. Maybe other those who moved away can share their experience, but that's what I've gotten.

So to have this Trump-like Laker-dad-Lavar to unapologetically talk trash to the rest of the world is actually a welcome addition. Not to mention hilarious. He's also made me appreciate Chino Hills which is a huge feat in itself.

When I moved to TX about 12-13 years ago, I learned very quickly in outside sales NOT to mention I was from California.

It was referred to as "the land of fruits and nuts"

A co-worker just visited LA and SF for the first time. Afterwards I told her I was from the SF Bay Area and we talked about it and she loved SF and then said, "I thought LA would be cool too. What a dirty and disgusting city." LOL

    I guess she's not a Big Baller.
