Paul George is great. A superstar. Still he'd be the 4th best player in the Finals. Then you're also subtracting Kevin Love. As much criticism as he gets the guy is a really, really good player. Dude averaged 20 & 10 last year on a very good Cavaliers team.
I just don't understand this deal. Stein is saying in some talks Cleveland receives Faried and George? What the **** does Indy gain from this? Mudiay and... Mason Plumlee? Iman Shumpert? Seems to me that Indiana is determined not to give George to the Lakers. It may not matter what we do to try to get in there if Pritchard is uninterested in trading George. I'm not a fan of trading Randle AND Clarkson, but after the draft I would make that move. The only stipulation would be that if they want both, we have to find a way to dump Deng. If we have to get a 3rd team involved for that, oh well, but if we're giving up Randle and Clarkson, we need a home for Deng. They're basically our last shots at finding any sort of dump-ability with Deng. But if Randle/Clarkson is less valuable to Indiana than Mudiay/Chandler, I don't know what the **** what we're supposed to do.
I would kinda love pg going to Cleveland, if only to rid ourselves of the pipe of being competitive in a short amount of time. Magic would have set us back a bit by trading dlo, but that can be fixed.
This 3 way trade was discussed prior to the draft, I think they are doing everything they can to get us to send the house. Their return in the trade sucks and makes no sense.
PG just went live on instagram and he's drunk. Clearly doesn't give a f*ck of what's going on. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk ---- Edit: STILL LIVE
I'll help you understand. Teams in the league will bend over backwards to screw us over by helping eachother. Nobody wants us good again, nobody wants to do us any favors. They'd rather help send Paul George to freaking Cleveland and make this even MORE of a strictly 2 team league than do something that benefits us in any way. Dan Gilbert and other owners complained like little b****** when we traded for Chris Paul by giving up Pau Gasol to Houston, and the Hornets receiving Odom, Scola, Kevin Martin, AND Dragic (and maybe even a draft pick). Gilbert said it would be a "travesty" to allow us to acquire Paul. Anyone hear Gilbert complaining about trading an overrated 3rd wheel to one team and another team receiving chump change while he gets one of the best players in the NBA? I don't. Funny how that works. Where's "basketball reasons" right now?
I just don't get helping Cleveland in that case. Why? Honestly a large part of me, probably a greater than 60% chance, thinks that if George goes to Cleveland he's a lock for the Lakers in 2018. Sure he could win, but it's not like being in Cleveland in general is great, but right now they're such a mess that they can't convince a rookie to come be their President of Basketball Ops. They're about to lose LeBron in FA. The entire world hates Gilbert and I think part of the deliciousness of karma would be watching LeBron and George walking over here in FA.
Some of you have already said what I was gonna say. It is without a doubt that this league HATES the Lakers and are in coercion in not ever letting the Lakers be great. And it is for this reason why I loathe every team in the NBA other than the Lakers. This league built this pathetic CBA over the last 19 years to eliminate every advantage the Lakers could use to aquire talent. I hope Pritchard, Ainge, Comic Sans, and anyone else chokes on a milk bone. f*** them is all I got to say, we will wait for George next year and get what we want anyway.
If Paul George goes for what's being rumored that would be the third guy going back to Cousins who was traded for players way worse than our young guys. Unbelievable.
i've been saying it from the start CLE is going to end up acquiring PG by trading TT+JR+some draft picks sure, the cavs will end up going to the finals again and probably losing to GS but does PG really stick around and become lebron's sidekick? part of me just doesn't see him being a guy that would be ok with that. but then again, i didn't think KD would join the 73 win warriors
All we heard about Kobe's last days was nobody wanted to play with him because if the team fails, it will be your fault and never Kobe's fault, yet if you won, Kobe would get all the credit. Well, that is what is going on with Lebron now too. If the Cavs win, it's pretty much all Lebron's glory. If the Cavs lose, you were not enough to help the greatest get to the top. It's kind of a lose lose for everyone not named Lebron. If I was PG13, I would come to the Lakers. It may be riskier in terms of getting a ring but the rewards will be much greater and he doesn't have Kobe to deal with anymore, except in a positive way. We offer him the greatest rewards.
I said weeks ago, "watch for PG in Cle". You were all laughing at me If he ends up in Cavs uni, y'all buying me a beer
