I'll give him a shot. Don't know much; but hey, given our roster only won 26 games, let's see what he's got...
I was mostly kidding. After consideration, I get the pick. The Lakers need the shooting. The key is we've now got way too many picks at PF. Someone has to go. I don't see Kuzma as a SF in the NBA.
I really see a pattern here of what Luke, Magic, and Rob are trying to do here with the players we selected to help fit the way Ball plays and create our system around that. I'll be completely honest I don't know Kyle Kuzma's game before this but he is someone who move effortless around the court, great length who can definitely switch pick and rolls and finds a way to find open passing lanes to receive the ball on offense. Willing passer and looking at his stroke I know he doesn't have great shooting percentage but it looks pretty solid and with some work I can't see why he couldn't improve. He shot an average of 40% from 3 in his last 10 games + was Defensive Player of the Year in his Conference He definitely reminds me of Nance a little bit but not as bouncy but maybe a little more nimble. Ranked in the 99% on floaters at the rim I like him a lot and the potential he brings with what other players we'll have around him. Rob mentioned in his presser tonight that he could definitely guard 2-4. I like this pick more and more.
Grew up a Lakers fan. Love this kid. He's like a swiss army knife small ball 4. He wants to impact the game like Draymond. That's a great aspiration. His favorite college player just happens to be Lonzo Ball.
He grew up in Flint, Michigan so his ties to Magic and Rob in the schools and area they grew up was helpful.
Here's Kyle's interview again after his Lakers workout. He seems to have been in the same group with Thomas Bryant but there's no footage I could find of his final run and shoot drill.
Don't know much about him... Theme seems to be versatility, hard worker/high effort guys. Can't say its a bad route to go.
This is the guy with the biggest question marks to me. He's got to really win me over (like he cares) with defensive effort/ability I haven't seen out of him. Not to mention physicality. He's a little doughy for a PF.
This guy was killing it at his pre-draft work out & 5 on 5 drill. He's a sleeper in this draft and definitely looked like a Ryan West pick.
