Finding it hard to see Indiana taking on Ryan Andersen's contract when they can just do that with Kevin Love.
My reply about giving them a choice between Deng and Anderson wasn't serious. To be honest, the fourway trade I threw together is highly unlikely because I doubt the Pacers accept it. A modified version would send Anderson to the Lakers and Clarkson to the Pacers. That works salary wise, but completely negates dumping Mozgov so I doubt the Lakers would accept that. If Houston can't send Anderson out, then they are gaining salary this summer instead of losing it and they walk from the deal. So in conclusion, no deal, and the Lakers wait to sign PG.
None of these reporters know jack except for Woj. Just throwing stuff out there to see if it sticks - a trade is imminent, Indy is taking their time, Cavs are the team, Houston is making a run, etc. In the end, Paul George will be a Laker.
Sam Amick is as connected to this situation as anyone. When others were saying it wouldn't happen, Amick was the one saying George is "hell bent" on LA. I think the author of the article is Indiana's mouthpiece right now and it's important to hear what they're saying. We'll see if the threat is empty but I believe them for now.
Hopefully, we just learn something soon. Not sure my nerves can take much more, or my refresh button for that matter haha
The more this goes on the more it seems like Indiana will just keep George off of stubbornness and not take the situation for what it is.
LMAO exactly, the more we wait the more desperate they get. Let them talk to every team out there. No one beats ours of 2 first round picks and a starter in Deng
What if that was the offer all along and the Pacers have just been floating Randle and Clarkson? Unlikely, but who really knows at this point?
Don't know if posted... http://jimrome.com/2017/06/21/sam-amick-on-paul-george-to-lakers-could-happen-before-tomorrow/
Thanks for posting. I don't want to lose Randle, but if it's only Randle and the 27, then sign me up and let's get this done.
I actually don't think the longer this stretches the more desperate and stupid we look (as some bloggers would have you believe). I think this is a sign there's other things going on. After the trade was announced, nothing official came through. I think the rumors that Houston is working to facilitate a trade are legit. I think leading up to the draft, they're trying to figure something out. As things get closer and it becomes clear it won't happen, I think all the pieces settle up and everything falls in line. That's not to say Paul George ends up a Laker before the draft. It's possible Indiana's line is legit and they won't cross it for a couple late 1sts. If that's what happens, then the Lakers pull the trigger on this D'Angelo deal. Either way D'Angelo and Brook are moving. We'll have to wait and see what else is roped into it and whether or not George gets included.
The longer the Pacers FO mess around the more Mintz (PG agent) will put the pressure on them. All Mintz has to do is just call whomever is interested and just reiterate how set PG is on becoming a Laker.
Lakers have the leverage here, I don't care what anyone says. If I were calling the shots here, I would tell Indiana, you got until midnight the day before the draft to take Randle, Clarkson, 27 and 28 for George. If you do not do it by then, draft day, it goes to Clarkson and 27 and 28 until we draft someone. If you dont do anything until after we make our picks, you can keep george however you want, we will get him in 12 months. Happy Free Agency mother Bleeps
