there's no way all of this stems from the swaggy incident. we are so far removed from that

there were clearly some major underlying issues that the FO saw as red flags that led to this trade

Several people have popped up that seem to share your joy that Russell is gone.

Perfect gif for what Joel said. That was pretty savage on Joel's part.

Curious why the trade hasn't been officially announced yet.

Has he really? Compare that to shredded Randle and you can understand why they traded DAR. Magic wanted these guys in shape and Randle took it to heart.

This situation reminds me of Andrew Bynum. A lot of the same questions. I was sad to see him traded, but knew he'd likely never realize his potential.

Feel the same way about D'Angelo. Certainly a possibility he can realize his potential in Brooklyn, but I don't think it's very likely.

Been here for two years and still the same issues on and off the court. Still really inconsistent. It's a shame, but you either have that dog in you or you don't.

First year I understand the entire Kobe farewell was not easy on him nor was playing for Byron. What was the excuse this year? No Kobe. No Byron. New head coach with a new system.

More reign and freedom and he still didn't have that breakout season we had hoped for.

Wish D'Angelo the best. I do. I was one of the fans who loved the pick of him, but sometimes you're just wrong about a player and I think that was the case here.

I really doubt Russ is broken up about this. We didn't send him to Utah, he's going from LA to Brooklyn, one of the few larger cities he could have actually been sent to. He gets the keys to that franchise and gets to live in NY, we didn't screw him over.

I heard today that Brooklyn will actually be selecting #27 for us if its not already in a deal for PG. Once Brooklyn makes #27 pick for us the deal will be complete.

Why this is the case.... I don't know but its what I've heard

Which is good and something I hope his agent Aaron Mintz can understand and appreciate because after all he and PG are whats driving this buzz of PG to LA so strongly.

Interview with Larry Nance Jr. He was asked at 2:30 did the Lakers give up on D'Angelo too soon?

"Well I feel like um... I feel like I don't know. I feel like uh he's obviously still has uh... loads of... potential and stuff like that. I personally I hope he goes to Brooklyn and is a 10x All-Star. I wish him all the best of luck and uh he knows I feel that way so this is uh... this is uh... nothing new but I want him to be you know the best player he can be."

He was also very careful to say how they're friends and how it did bum him out that one of his draft-mates is gone.
