Deng will be gone; probably even stretched and waived. His days are numbered, too...

    f*** that....

And if, on top of that, LeBron comes over next season -- I'm done. Done.

We won't get squat out of it, championship wise, we will, again, mortgage our future for some exec ego/career, and we'll have to root for f***ing LeBron?

I am suspending my fandom card, if that happens.

    Seriously?

LeBron James is one of the greatest players of all time.

If you have a chance to get a generational type talent like that I don't care what you have to do.

George and LeBron would be the best duo in the league since Kobe and Shaq.

    Couldn't care less. Literally.

LeBron is a douche and a frontrunner. Do not want him on the Lakers. Even if we did get a championship out of it, it would have an * next to it, for me.

Thing is -- we won't win s*** even with LeBron and PG.

I'm not quite sold on PG13. I love the guy and all but I don't think a Lebron/PG duo would succeed against the Warriors.

Yeah he's a douche so was Shaq who cares?

It's about the team and what is in the best interest of the team to improve and to try and win championships.

How do you know they wouldn't win? You don't.

LeBron is one of the all time greats and the Lakers would instantly be a contender again. That's all that matters.

Obviously we are going ALL IN for Free Agency next year, why not just clear off Randle's money now and offer him with the trade? He won't be around long term.

    Dammit.

Having PG + LeBron + even Butler will probably be not enough to go through Dubs.

So... since Larry is much smarter that this :Magic Brows: moron, we are going to give up Randle too.

    Ball
    George
    Ingram
    LeBron

Even if these moves were to clear cap space from a pipe dream Lebron+PG pairing, why not wait until the trade deadline and see how a DLo/Ball back court plays together?

    You are joking, right?

LeBron + Irving + Love couldn't get past Dubs after a cakewalk of East playoffs and no injuries.

LeBron + PG are going to do better in the West? Riiiiiiight.

LeBron is not going squat. He'll retire as a Cavalier. Book it.

And even if he does come to us next year, we'll be having a Bron Bron that limps more than he dribbles, complains more than taking a shot and resting more than playing.

Completely agreed. And this was prime 32 year old LeBron in his 7th straight Finals trip. Do we really want 34 year old LeBron after his 8th straight Finals trip, even for those that don't hate him like me. His game isn't going to age very well IMO, he's too reliant on athleticism. Then LeBron leaves and we have to start all over because he leaves franchises in ashes. George I am all for, he's 27, but LeBron is getting old, and his nba mileage is huge.

Luke's a good coach. With the right team, we saw what he was able to do in the Bay. Yet look at this season with THIS Lakers squad. Some of you are really attached to the youth movement. Youth isn't vital for rebuilding, its about having the right attitude and demeanor. They clearly saw that in the prospects they scouted for this draft, which is why we are holding on to the #2 pick. We see it in Ingram which is why he's a pseudo untouchable. They always bring up Nance cause dude gets it. So all these other youngsters are fodder and they should be. DLo didn't have it and now he's gone.

Create a winning environment in here with the right attitudes and we're back into contention. Its important to trade for PG as oppose to having him walk in via free agency cause we know there is a limit to how much players will sacrifice just to play with each other. That's where having a player's bird rights are so key cause regardless of the cap hold limitations, you can break through that cap apron without facing ramifications. You have more flexibility in resigning a player via his bird rights and adding a free agent as opposed to adding 2 free agents. This is a business after all so most players want to eat and still compete and if they take a discount to play together, they would have to sacrifice far less if we had at least one of their bird rights. If you see at what Riles did in Miami, he needed Wade's bird rights to make that a reality.

I understand you guys want him to just walk onto THIS team next summer, but does that put us over the hump? Can you guys honestly say THIS team has the foundation we need to get to the next level? I certainly think not and we need to move around some of that weight to create space for another. PG can be one of those pieces, but in order to add to PG, we have a better shot at doing so if we attain his bird rights.

    Ya dig?

This HAS to be the case. It MUST. The Lakers wouldn't do this if they weren't sure it was happening. If not LeBron, then another max FA with George.

Honestly I'm fine with making deals. As several of us said from the minute the front office shuffle occurred, this team was going to look radically different next season. The number one and two guys who most of us thought would be gone were Randle and Russell. But it's one thing to trade those guys for George, Butler, etc and a completely different thing to trade them for Lopez and the POSSIBILITY of getting someone next year.

I don't know. I'm reserving full judgment until free agency is completed but this isn't the start I wanted.
