Magic and Rob need to be patient, play the game and don't fold your cards. Just tell them your offer and if they want it great if not just wait it out, they'll come back crawling

She's a Lakers beat writer for the LA Times. She's legit. Hope she's smoking about even thinking about giving up Ingram or a #2 in any PG deal.

Who the hell is Tania? Where you been. L.A. Times Lakers beat writer this year and quoted all season long plus articles of hers posted. She's good.

But what Lakerman JSJ said .... I hope she's just high on something right now.

Maybe trade the 5 and 10 pick from the kings for #2 and give them the 10 pick + 28th pick along with jc?

Eff that. If they want #2. They need to take Deng and #2 and that's it.

The Lakers need to make it clear that all assets (such as Russell, #2, Ingram, etc) outside of Clarkson, Black, and the #28 are not on the table for PG no matter how hard the Pacers push for them.

If the Pacers threaten to trade PG to another team, Magic and Rob need to say that's fine and walk away. Any sign of possibly caving in to their demands will only encourage the Pacers front office to hold out longer for a better package from the Lakers. In fact, the Lakers should not even entertain theoretical trade discussions involving any other assets and they need to make it crystal clear that this is their best offer for PG or they will wait to sign him next off-season.

The sooner the Pacers run out of options and exhaust all hope that they can squeeze more out of the Lakers, the sooner PG gets traded here.

Hahah. They would add a Rob Pelinka statue next to Magic if he pulled Butler and George for only the #2.

I agree with the posters saying not to give up dlo... we've given him two years and he's shown flashes and has a really consistent stroke... keep him... give them clarkson, black, 28th pick and a future first rounder... that gives them a solid foundation to build on... they might have to take deng to make salaries work

Yeah, I am not giving jacks*** for PG that is above Clarkson + #28.

    1. We can stretch Deng. We can trade him. He can recover. Not worth getting rid of one of the young core.

    2. All this b******* about "what if some other team trades for PG and he likes it there..." is just that -- b*******. He can come over, have Ding write his usual hit piece on him, or someone else and decide he doesn't really like it here that much. Unless we get a guarantee that he actually resignes, he is just as much of a rental for us as he is for another team, regardless of what he or his agent say.

    3. "We will have to pay Randle" is something other teams understand too, making him sort of a rental as well.

    4. f*** Larry Bird, I am not doing him any favors. He wants to trade PG for Kevin Love, he can go right ahead and then f*** himself with the rolled-up signed contract, for all I care.

    5. There is a higher chance Russell will improve his value after next season, making him even more of a valuable trading piece. Same for S&T (or something) Randle.

Just wait it out. Don't do anything stupid and score next year.

I 100% agree with everything you say Zen, however what if he is traded to the clippers or say Cavs and he enjoys the winning there and has a change of heart, you think players like Lebron or cp3 who are convincing leaders won't convince him winning is better than where you play. It's a risk, I say we keep dlo, Ingram and potentially Lonzo , but can trade everyone else

huge risk letting him go to another team right now. not enough to justify giving up a top-tier asset when nobody else is offering one.

If he can bolt to the Clippers, than bringing him on a year earlier is actually more dangerous, as there would be more chances for him to see if the grass is greener on the tenants side and then bolt.

Let's just say I'd like to keep him as far from West and Deep Pockets Shady Ballmer as I can, until the ink dries up.

Not even sure about how huge that risk is, unless he goes to Cleveland. Even than -- with LeBron likely bolting, it's not a big deal.

if I'm an opposing GM, I take his agent threat serious and that its only a 1yr rental. Hopefully Clev lands Butler so they dont get involved, and I dont think Ainge commits any thing of value to bid on PG, he's tight with his assets.
