We won 26. If Ball has the "it" I think he does and we don't give up too much to get PG13, I think we can double that win total. That's if everything goes perfect. 52 wins and we're hosting the 1st round.
They don't have time left. If they don't trade him now, no team in his right mind will trade with the Pacers later. It's now or never. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
About a potential PG addition to the team. Given we retain most of our core, we're playoff bound, GUARANTEED! Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
OP said 20+ That puts us at 46. IMO, we were tanking for a portion of the year (why Lou was traded because he didn't buy in). Of course, I said if everything goes right (no significant injuries, Ball is starting and contributing from day 1, and we don't give up too much for PG13).
Exactly. We were trying to lose for a good portion of the year. Next year we have no incentive to tank, our young guys should improve, and we'd add George and Ball. I think we can get quite a few more wins. I think we can bring Ball along similar to how we did Ingram and still win a good deal more games.
I know you don't like tweets but plenty of people saying PG deal will happen before the draft. Indy loses any bargaining power they have as the season goes on. Right now, they can take a low ball offer, later they get trash.
40 wins, IMO. I don't see Ball contributing much more than Ingram his first year...just don't. @LakersFilmRoom who likes him a great deal projected his stats to be at like 9 pts, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists...I mean the West is tough...
That's actually what I'm thinking so we're not far off on the actual number of games or Ball. I think he can help some but wouldn't expect him to shoulder much of the burden here. I think our wins would fall somewhere between say 37 and 42. We might miss the playoffs, but I think we'd be in the hunt most of the season. I definitely think it would be enough to show progress and potentially get another free agent to sign here.
I think 40 wins is fair if we added George and Ball. So many factors go into these things. Would Randle still be here and if he is how much does he improve? How does Russ look with a summer of working out and starting to get a more NBA body? Can Ingram get that shooting percentage up? Does Zubac come in more polished and in shape? Would Ball make all those player's lives easier and make them look better? I think so, but not instantly, because yeah I think his body will need to adjust. Also would depend on our bench around those guys. Like you said, the West is tough, one star doesn't seem to be enough to get you to the playoffs. But it's possible we'd be in the hunt for the 8th seed.
The assist number is really low. I'm not saying 10 or anything, but 5 assists from him (granted he gets 30 minutes a game or so) seems closer.
I believe they have already lost their bargaining power. What they have to do now is get the team ready for a sale. Taking on contracts that won't win them anything anyway is probably not the way to go. That is why word came out that they want two 1st's and a starter. They need someone to replace PG and future picks. Which then prompted word coming out that the Lakers wanted to add another 1st rounder. Lakers looked like they wanted to add that 1st rounder without giving up Ball. When you hear these scenarios, and put common sense into them, they start to have credibility. The tweets i hate are the "Cavs in the hunt, stay tuned". That type of crap should never be posted by a reporter who is getting paid. Anyone can write that. Anyone can say someone is looking and just put "sources" or "reportedly". I believe this a Cavs vs Lakers. I can not really see anyone else in the hunt. PG either goes home to be THE MAN or he goes to Cleveland for a year to win a title. There is no way it goes another way unless the team who gives Indy what they want, knows George is not going to stay next summer.
