Ah. Well, I've said it before, and my stance remains the same, I'm not giving up any of our main core (Russell, Ingram, Randle for sure) to clean up Mitch and Jim's mess. We tanked hard and suffered to get those players, I'm not letting one go to unload Deng.

Deng or Mozgov + 28th pick so we get him NOW.

I'd give 28 and Black or JC at this point. We have them cornered and hold all the cards. Let them figure out what they want by the draft. This is going to get settled sooner rather than later, unless Mitch is running the FO there and they just sit on him and lose him for nothing.

So let's say we draft Lonzo and George signs with us in a year what's our lineup look like?

Assuming we don't trade any members of the young core which why would we, but Ingram and George play the same position and we've already seen PG13 isn't a fan of playing PF so does Brandon move to the 2 or the bench? Maybe move Russell to the bench?

Will be interesting for sure, but you get that superstar talent and you figure out the rest later.

    Stretching 1 remains an option.

Well, at 25, JC isn't that young, and if you're talking defense he certainly isn't an asset. :Brows:

The Lakers have been so awful the last three or four years and it seemed any hope of getting a superstar was false hope or just very wishful thinking.

Just feels good that one of the game's elite players clearly wants to play with the Lakers.

JC + #28 + one or two of our 2020 second round picks. That'd be my offer, Pacers don't have leverage and won't get equal value but we'll be getting away with murder if you expect them to take one of MozDeng too. We could stretch those guys if we need to.

As for the PG/Ingram fit? I'd say Ingram should be our 1-4 super sub.

How did the knicks end up giving so much for melo? Wasn't he in this same situation with Denver?

Wait, what does that mean? People only say this when something good happens.

If we can package a deal of Luol Deng ($17.19 mil) + our 28th pick for Paul George ($19.3 mil), it'll be awesome.

The only way I make a deal for PG13 is unloading Deng or Moz's contract on them, with none of our young core leaving in return. My only concern is even with George, he's proven in a horribly weak Eastern conference that he alone can't get us where we need to be, which is ultimately hoisting #17 and beyond. He'd be leaving a better core in Indiana for much tougher competition in the West. I think George needs another bonafide superstar playing beside him. Who would that be?

Exactly. James Dolan, in his infinite wisdom, lacked the patience to wait nor had the balls to force a lowball offer through. Hopefully Magic and Pelinka have at least one of these virtues.

I disagree. I'll take the Lakers current young core over what the Pacers have especially considering you're likely looking at Lonzo Ball being drafted and added to the mix in a matter of days and by the time 2018 free agency hits he along with Ingram and Russell will be a year further in their development.

ingram would definitely move to the bench if/when george arrives

the only way i'd welcome a trade for PG is if it involves deng/mozgov and the 28th pick. no need to trade one of the kids when there's a chance he'll sign with LA next offseason
