Shaq didn't always devote himself to fitness, but he worked out for at leader part of his tenure.

Did they take that pic with one of those Kodak cameras you throw away after you develop the film?

    :D

It's a screenshot from a phone video that's why the quality is poor.

Nothing like the one in the video....at least not the high fly parts, in some clip his head is almost at the rim

I remember someone talked about how long it takes to fully recover from an injury he had.

    2 years?

You could see, the first year, he was throwing s*** near the rim, at least partially avoiding contact.

Last year he got much better.

He gonna be throwing down on fools this year.

i think he did also add some weight. even if it was muscle, that's still more mass to get airborne.

but the injury does matter. randle said he was still worried about taking off and landing on that leg for a whole year.

at any rate, i think he could actually stand to lose some mass. he's plenty strong right now; his best chance of jumping a level is going to be balancing that with a little more speed and quickness. but i'm no trainer.

I think you're right, but I'm a little curious about what that means for his game driving to the rim. He gets a lot of his points bullying to the rim in half court sets. He better develop some more footwork and skill or he'll have a harder time scoring next year. Time to put up or shut up which is probably good anyway since we're going to have to pay him next summer.

    This explains Julius' game today.

He was a man amongst children in HS. So dunking was the easiest way to score for an athletic beast like Julius, so I doubt there was much focus on other aspects such as footwork and shooting.

Come college, he started facing competition and size at his own level, so his game had to adjust to strength and bully ball.

Come the NBA, the paint isn't as easy to get to as it was in HS. A jumper is absolutely necessary for him to keep defenses honest.

Gunnar's not getting his a** kicked in the paint by Big men. Has to be a happy medium of solid and lean. Am sure he knows what he's doing and is needed. Magic ain't hiring fools for key positions in the organization going forward.

In all seriousness I think Gunnar is going to focus heavily on cardio. I can see these dudes doing intense Plyometrics until they puke!

So damn fat. I throw up in my mouth a little whenever these guys walk around with their shirts off.

At least get in shape before we have to see that.
