Apparently PG is working out with the black Mamba for the first time as well. I'm sure Kobe will recruit him for us behind the scenes.

Can somebody tell me how did PG's guesting in Kimmel go? I see a lot of entirely opposite reactions in social media that it has turned into LA against every other state wanting him, including Indiana.

LA shows should probably ask PG to come to every single show they produce, if that's what it takes. It's time these talk shows and all do something productive for once.

Working out with Kobe. Showing up in some LA show. What's next? Playing horse with some Lakers. PG's such a tease.

For real. He should go straight to Magic's office after that Kimmel show and work on that trade.

That interview made me feel like it's nearly a done deal in PG's mind. It's just a matter of if it's this summer or next.

Kimmel: Have you talked to Kobe about coming to the Lakers?

    George: Not yet.

He's from LA. He sure look comfortable and at ease. He knows the neighborhood. I bet he knows one or couple of people in that audience.

If Pacers don't make a big splash this off season which they most certainly won't, then they'll trade PG because I can't see him re-signing with them. And no way they're gonna let him play for a year and watch him walk out a year later without a player worth a penny in return. If they do, they're more f*cked up than I thought they are. They'll bargain PG away. Better something than nothing. That's where we should jump in. Because we have to. Waiting next season is too risky. Things and circumstances can change.

Right now, C Bags is in the ECF and if there's one team that can make a dent on our chances of landing PG after next season, it's them. LeBron thus Cavs won't be as strong as they are next year. Meaning with an intact core, Boston have a good shot at making it to the Finals next season, maybe even this year. So if PG sees it as a good opportunity to win a title, he's good as gone. One little thing though and this is so insignificant. He's from LA, so he hates the C Bags.

And hey, it's no coincidence he's working out with Kobe. Seriously. They're best friends all of a sudden?

I would definitely inform the Pacers that we're interested when/if they're ready to listen to offers. I'm not in any hurry to give up serious value. Our probability of landing him & our leverage do nothing but increase with time. Focus on landing another Star in FA or via Trade in addition to the draft. The PG situation will work itself out.

If he knows someone in that audience, they're probably related to him. :D While some Californians go to Kimmel, those types of shows are also really popular for tourists who get a guaranteed look at a celebrity when they come to LA. Still, you're right he clearly loves it in LA.

I'm with you all the way. Once it becomes clear that Indiana can't significantly improve the team, they should immediately look to flip George and that's where your second point comes into play for me.

The C Bags are "close" to competing. They should have moved for Paul George this last season so they could maybe make a run past Cleveland if they got lucky. However... the C Bags didn't pull the trigger. This tells me two things: 1) the rumors of George dissuading teams because he wants Indy or LA are true and 2) Boston probably feels confident they can get Hayward or another wing for "cheaper" than what they'll pay for George.

I think the Lakers are about 85% in the driver seat right now. That could change dramatically if George just sort of sucked it up and either demanded a trade or denied a trade request. If he's got a foot out the door, he should just bite the bullet and do it.

Yeah. I grew up in Dana Point in Orange County. It's about the same distance. Not sure I'd confuse my up brining with Boyz in the Hood.

Dana Point is a hell of a lot nicer than Palmdale though. :D

if george is serious about playing in la, he can do like howard did to orlando. thus, don't expect a full gutting. with the level of public posturing george has shown (who knows what he's said to indy via his agent), the lakers can probably afford to play some hardball. as in: if you're getting one of our higher-tier assets (russell/ingram), you're taking deng.

That's the way I see it too. George has done nothing to fight off these rumors. Going on Kimmel he had the chance to squash the rumors and instead said he hadn't talked to Kobe about coming to the Lakers yet. If that's what he's doing publicly, then behind the scenes he must have already packed his bags as far as Indy should be concerned. Going on LA talk shows and talking about the Lakers? I mean c'mon. Who needs that in Indy?

If I'm the Lakers though, I look at all that and say screw it. I'm not giving you anything major without you taking back something I don't want. Otherwise we all know what's coming next summer and you get nothing at all. That's why I'm still on my lowball-ish offer of Randle, Clarkson, pick (not Top 3). That's a good haul for what I'm seeing out of George right now. Hell I might pull that offer soon.

I don't know about that. In July it gets upwards of 78 degrees. Not sure humans are meant to live in that kind of heat. All that ridiculous noise of the ocean hitting the rocks...
