Good balance and core workout. I give this a 7/10. Needs a lot more work. Bend his knees a little more.

To be fair it looks like he's been training for a while already at this point.

This better be a "puke bucket" and not just for holding the door. Slacking days are over! :p

    Hell yeah he does.

Big, strong legs and butt are important in just about any sport. Nobody should ever really question Julius's athleticism. It's what makes him such an interesting prospect.

This is why I still want to keep him regardless of his current deficiencies.

He needs the conditioning, but he needs some kind of mental work as well this off season. And a lot of it. Maybe film sessions with Luke and Kobe or something. He needs to be able to understand defensive positioning much better at a minimum.

If he can accomplish that reasonably to be expected, significant progress this summer why would you want to not have JR on this team. Scares the hell out of me. He may not be the brightest naturally on the court but already when he's on there's no way to stop him. I think Julius will continue to improve as the seasons go on. I hope we can see this new improved Julius on the court again before he's gone if that's going to happen.

What's a bit concerning is, he spent his first year watching film after getting injured and it really hasn't shown. Maybe he needs to watch it with someone who can break it down for him?

Not smart. Can't shoot. Can't defend. Will likely command 15m minimum because of his size. Just a very risky amount of money.

Agreed. I still see a lot of room for growth and he showed clear improvements last year. I also think it's notable that he's gotten rave reviews from his coaches including Coach K, Pop over the summer, and Luke this year. He just needs to learn to play smarter on the floor. He's shown the flashes, but he needs to show consistency.

It's certainly risky for that price tag, but I would bet he "gets it" within the next 2 years, and turns tings around.

He's shown flashes of all those qualities this year. He just needs to figure out how to put it all together consistently.

Pay him slightly more than Clarkson? Yeah I'm interested in that. For that price, he's basically on a 6th man salary as a starter for us. I'll absolutely take that deal.

Yeah but we don't have to pay him this off-season. If we don't extend him, next year he will be a Restricted FA.

Just because of his size means it won't possibly be lower than that. If he doesn't grow by leaps and bounds this year, I'm not sure he'll ever be worth what he will likely earn. If you needed to sign him today, what would you pay? Btw, he hasn't really shown any flashes of intelligence or defense unless you literally mean an instantaneous flicker. He truly lacks those skills.

I am going to wait till we have a defensive scheme before condemning anyone on defense. Then the coaches have to be disciplined to the defense as much as the players. Practice rotations, force them to talk, block out.. Play the ones that do it. The ones that dont buy in, ship out. You need discipline, determination and the right attitude to play defense. All the while working on your offense but it is relatively easy compared to defense as it is more fun for most. Most coaches like coaching offense more than defense so they let players slide at times. Not just any coach can do defense, crossing my fingers with Luke.

Weak side blocks. He's shown a really good feel for that aspect of defense.

Regarding intelligence, he made a pretty big leap in understanding how to control his speed, change direction, and keep his head up when driving in transition. He use to barrel into the lane and charge a defender. That was a big problem his first year (technically his second), and he all but eliminated that issue after having a summer to work on it going into his 3rd year.

Did anyone send this tweet to Kevin Pritchard?

Hopefully he's down with the thickness.
