I don't know about that. I think Lakers HC was/is his dream job... even though we suck. Imagine getting this team to the playoffs and making some noise again. He'll be an immortal hero
If he'd always played in the west he'd have been bounced in the first or second rounds 1/2 the time. No playoff points when gone fishing
I refuse to watch but 39 points on 14 shots is impressive. Can he keep up this pace when they get to the Finals? I hope not.
Well he'll probably get plenty of rest in between this round and the next when Derozan and/or Lowry disappear in the playoffs again.
If he had done this in the West throughout his career I would be the first one to pat him on the back. But it never gets talked about in the media about the path getting to the Finals. Now that Lowry turned his ankle the Raptors if they thought they had any chance don't have one now and "those other guys" are the only ones who are going to battle. People argue that the GSW have it easier going up against the Jazz, yes they are correct in saying that but look at the last 4-7 years - whoever came out of the West had to go through some real s***.
KAJ still more impressive if you think about... - KAJ came into the league at 22 - Prior to 1984, there were best of 3 series in the 1st round + top seeds got byes.......KAJ only played in 4 out of 15 1st round series. - A majority of KAJ's playoff games came in his past prime years What Lebron is doing is great no question, but KAJ missed out on A LOT of prime playoff games. Almost 50 1st round games missed (If going by today's 7 game format) if he swept every team. He would have had unreal stats in that regard. Look at games played for all time playoff scoring, Lebron will pass MJ but MJ did it in way less games. But that will surely never be mentioned unless you look for it.
Even I will say he's well cemented as a top 10 player now, but I still think he has a lot more to accomplish before I put him with the absolute best of the best.
when you get to the top ten, you end up splitting hairs a lot. lebron's in the conversation for greatest ever. i agree that his playoff point total is inflated because he was always guaranteed three rounds due to the really weak competition in the east, though.
If he was a Laker, he'd already be the GOAT on this board. He's not so we nitpick. I will admit though, an insane amount of his success is due to genetics. The dude looks like he was created in a lab. And he never gets hurt. Lebron is what Gattaca looks like. Well, at least the early versions of it. They obviously couldn't get around the hair issue.
Depends on how many more titles/MVP's he wins. LeBron is great statiscally. He's gifted athletically, like physically built like a wide receiver. But, I can't call him GOAT, because he too played alongside other stars for titles. His career isn't flaw free, no one is. But statistically he'll finish above everyone. Lebron is smart, he carefully strategized everything.
That would be only if he was to attain the run he has had but the likelihood of Lebron doing half the stuff he did in the east here in the west would be damn near impossible. A physical marvel, extreme talent and def a Lakers great I can see definitely but if he were in the west during the same playing time with the teams he had (but playing for the Lakers) I couldn't see those teams getting to the Finals year after year. Way to many hypotheticals in my opinion.....however lets say this... What if Bron was a Laker and won 3 rings for the P&G. Would we honestly put him above Magic, Kareem, Shaq and Kobe? His stats wouldn't be as impressive though the victories would be especially if he beat our biggest rivals to get them. Now if he was at the 5 and 6 championship mark I could definitely see the board going GOAT with him including myself. Like I have said before we cannot fault him for playing against such competition, we cannot discredit his rings, we cannot ignore the physical gifts he has had in any way (unless we are talking about possible Roid usage). We also can't ignore the many, many, many disappearing acts in the playoffs before the last 2 runs. We cannot ignore the flopping and absolute favoritism he seems and seemed to get on the court. Thats just my opinion though.
