I think a lot of you are willing to give up too much for PG13.

We can get him for free in another year. Ball, D'Angelo, Ingram, PG13, Randle, Zu, Clarkson, Nance. That's a strong 8. And we can still sign a FA or two. But to give up a starter (or 2) and a top 3 pick is KrAzY to me. I really like PG13, but the truth is he's not gonna get us a ring. Playoffs? yes. But not a ring. I'd rather wait a year, allow our youngsters to continue developing and see what the future holds. We need more than just PG13.

If we can get PG with JC/JR/TOP3, then we can sign another player for good $$.

I'm willing to part with JC and JR, but not top 3. I think those 2 and Houston's pick is a fair trade to get him a year early. Bird risks getting nothing in return. Other teams will be hesitant. I'm sure they've heard the same things we have. To give up more than that for a 1 year rental gets GMs fired.

We're going to have to trade for him and here's why. Indiana is eventually going to figure it out that George is leaving so they are going to want to get something back for him. Larry may be bad at his job but he isn't stupid especially seeing other players walk away from their teams. So he'll trade him and depending on where PG13 get traded to say like BOS, I seriously doubt he's going to leave that team that just trade for him.

I just don't see him just walking away from IND and that FO does nothing about it. That's what we want and what would be perfect. I just don't see it happening that way unfortunately.

Of course not, but there's a fair deal for us to give up that doesn't include our best assets. As of right now our best assets are a pick we don't actually have yet, Russell, and Ingram. I don't give up a potential star to an expiring contract. I don't want to be the Knicks.

I'm willing to part with some really good young prospects. Julius Randle is a favorite punching bag, but go find a kid his age doing everything we're asking of him. It's going to be a very short list and the other guys on it won't be available in trades. Clarkson bugs the holy hell out of me at times, but how many kids his age are capable of scoring as well as him? I only get frustrated because he could be more, but what he is still holds great value. If they want a future 1st instead of the Houston 1st, that's fine, but I'm not giving up those two AND a Top 3 pick for what could be a rental.

I'm all for getting him early. We need someone here to attract others. Nobody is making the jump alone. I'm also not going to handicap our future. If George never comes here, we're going to have to start wrapping our minds around this young cast moving forward.

The waiting for fa theory sounds nice...until you think bout the likes of dragic, love, etc. who all at one point had ties to la when they were becoming fa. Just cause pg rumors to la doesnt guarantee he'll come, lots can happen from now till fa and we could still be terrible next yr, why would PG join a bad team or what if a good team trades for him like love?

The flip side of that is, what if we give up 2 quality players and a top 3 pick and PG comes to us, we suck, and he leaves. Howard did it. We got nothing for Gasol. Now it happens again and we're without JC, JR, and Ball. half of LA would be ready to run Magic out of town.

I don't want another young player, but no worries. We can move the pick and a salary for another quality player. Either way we can load up.

I understand that. We're definitely too young. I guess it would depend on who we got, but I'm not giving up a top 3 pick and 2 players for PG13. Bird would take that and laugh his butt off.

Thats mgmt fault for having old school mentality....if we have pg13 in place, im sure rob lowe and magic can work their magic, if its ju/randle and the top 3 pick i dont think we'll miss much giving that up if we're lucky and its hou pick it wouldnt hurt as much if pg13 doesnt stay. But again if he doesnt stay its because the team is still bad even with him amd thats on our guys then

the howard deal was a no-brainer, imo. kobe and nash don't get hurt, no way he walks, lakers are in contention for a couple more years. just a perfect s*** storm. you can't project based on terrible luck.

i'd give up pieces for george. if both ingram and russell stay, super win.

That's my take too but I'm not giving up two good pieces AND a top pick for a rental. Not now not ever .

No way it takes Russell, Ingram & Top 3pick to get George..

Lets first make sure to keep the pick and worry about giving it away later :)

But I'm a lot less concerned about PG13 leaving than Dwight. PG13 is from LA and would never get to come back home if he left or could live with himself because we fans would NOT BE HAPPY.
