D'Angelo Russell Discussion: Adopting A Professional Attitude

Watched the game and I thought this was my favorite game from Russell in a long time. He was sharp coming off of picks, he was engaged defensively, he was talking to his teammates out there. I thought his focus was 100% better than I've seen it in a long time. Whatever was said to him by Rob and Magic must have really struck home. He still had a couple turnovers that I'm sure he wants back, but overall I thought his aggressiveness was so refreshing. He was attacking! I thought it was great.

I like that he got a little involved in the skirmish. From the outside a little bit and he walked away as soon as he pushed Monroe but hey I love that he was involved and got in there to protect his guys. All of the Lakers on the floor were there to have Nick's back. Remember when Nick and Russell weren't going to ever be friends? I didn't after that play.

 

Sucks to be tremendously wrong, but I respect your doubling down. Doubly wrong.

 

I thought he played very well last night. I also liked that he got into the skirmish. Our guys really had Nick's back and that was refreshing to see.

 

Draymond said there was one guard he was really disappointed in during the skirmish last night because he didn't wanna get in a fight. I'm assuming it's Russell. Yet Luke said he was proud of Russell for doing exactly what he wanted.

I'm a fan of Draymond's game, but he needs to STFU.

 

What? What did he want DA to do? He got right into it, pushed Monroe out of the way, and then did the sensible thing by not engaging. Green can f*** himself. Dude yaps too much.

D’Angelo Russell getting ejected from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss to the Milwaukee Bucks Friday has inspired a wide-range of reactions. Lakers head coach Luke Walton was happy with the fight shown by his point guard, but one of his former players was slightly less pleased with the way that Russell approached the fracas.

“I wanted to tweet something about it but I couldn’t figure out my Twitter password. It’s probably best that I couldn’t. It was one particular player that pissed me off, bad,” Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green told reporters (as transcribed by Chris Haynes of ESPN). “To me, it looked like he didn’t want no parts of it and it completely pissed me off.”

Getting past the fact that Green apparently does not know the password to his own Twitter account, that statement was vague enough that it would seem to be unclear which player on which team he was talking about.

Well...

Russell did move away slightly after shoving Monroe, but it’s also hard to criticize a player for pushing an opponent away from their teammate and then not wanting to throw punches and get suspended or something.

Walton certainly didn’t seem to have a problem with how Russell handled things when informed of Green’s comments:



So yeah, this just seems like a whole lot of Draymond being Draymond, and it’s probably best that Russell doesn’t take advice on skirmishes from someone who considers kicking players in the testicles repeatedly a natural basketball move.

Draymond Green cost his team a title last year because he is flat out stupid. Not stupid on that day, not stupid in that series, he's just a dumb human being. When Draymond speaks, you have to assume it's going to be stupid.
