So I been watching some games from the oh so great Cachooka Man. DAR looks like he can get any shot he wants during the game. I mean the dude can shoot, like, he's really good. I think Luke Walton, if he hasn't already, needs to give him the green light. Let the dude go HAM if he's on fire. Russel has had 20 Pt quarters.... If that's the case, let the man gun and run until he has a serious heat check. It's what Kobe got and we were succesful. Steph has that light and he literally dominates games by being such a loaded scorer.

I see in a lot of games Russel will be super aggressive, get his 10-12 pts in 5-8 minutes and then kinda casually coast the game. Then he'll end up with 18 pts or so at the end, which is a good number, but if he can get more, why not? i don't know just an observation.

Kinda reminds me of Lamar Odom.. Dude could have seriously been a great scorer, but just wasn't aggressive for the entire time he played.

^ I've asked for Luke to unleash D'Angelo as a scorer, but watching the last few games, I'm not so sure anymore. He's really starting to develop into an excellent distributor. (maybe Magic has helped?) So now I'm thinking long-term. It may be better to throttle him back a little to instill habits and discipline earlier in his career. When given the green light later on in a few years (ie Curry), he could always turn into a prolific scorer. I think it's better for the team as well.

It's a special player who can turn that ability on and off. Magic was one of those guys.

    DAR?

I'll get back to you, but I don't see him reaching that level. That's ok though, because only a few players belong in the conversation with Magic as one of the best ever.

I think it depends on what kind of level we are talking about, and I'm not really referring to switching on/off.

It's like training a player to finish with his off-hand. Some players end up completely ambidextrous, able to finish equally as efficient with both hands. Some will always be better with their dominant hand, but still quite efficient with their off-hand.

Likewise, I think DLO will always be a better scorer than a distributor. It comes natural to him. I just think it's a good idea to focus on developing his distributing skills at this juncture because his scoring ability isn't going to diminish. When he becomes consistent at running the offense, dishing out 8+ assists, then we could ask him to carry our scoring load as well. His assists will taper off a bit but I'd like for him to eventually become a 23 ppg 7 ast type of player.

I think we should trade him ASAP. Show that list to Bird and sell high. Clearly, he has peaked.

Bynum with the double doubles. :Headbang: but Russell with the 3's smoking everyone and he should wind up close to Magic for 2nd all time scoring by age 21. Pretty f****** impressive.

You kinda need an asterisk tho .... Kobe/Magic/Bynum/Worthy ... they were on GOOD TEAMS with great players that could score 30+ a nite!

DLo more or less is the #1 option everynight if the kid set his mind to it. Sorry, as Shania would say .. "THAT DON'T IMPRESS ME MUCH"!

I'm not impressed by people who can't give credit where it's due either.

What am I suppose to be impressed about? You bring in a coach like Walton who's style would "free" the kids to play their game.

I look at DLo's season vs his rookie year and honestly see zero improvement. I would be impressed if he was more of a leader and he was averaging 17-18 points and shooting more efficiently.

Before the season started, I would have said I can see DLo making a jump this season because Byron's moronic coaching is out of the way. Yet he's still the same player.

I'm actually impressed with Randle and his improvement. He's scoring a few more points but his rebounds are down but he's also attacking the rim more and shooting nearly 49% vs 43% a yr ago.

As frustrated as a I have been with him, I am thinking of keeping at least through his rookie contract.

I think we'll hopefully have a better team surrounding him.
