What we need is a white Rajon Rondo. Without the attitude.

I'm now just wondering if this injury was subconsciously committed knowing that a game with Lillard in POR was coming this week.

Rumor is Lillard sent a doctor, masseuse, private jet and limo for Russell to ensure he gets to the game.

Anyone starting to get worried about D'Lo's knees? I hope it doesn't prevent him from having the career a lot of us anticipated he would. At this point I think you have to say drafting him over Porzingis is a mistake, but that's also hindsight. Everyone wanted Okafor, but don't remember anyone wanting Porzingis. I still think he's gonna be a really good player just probably not great.

Sirron had a man crush on him, but that had nothing to do with his basketball skills.

no one wanted porzingis at 2. also, he's had his own troubling little injuries, i think (i don't like achilles soreness forcing you to miss games as a young player). we should be glad the FO didn't do what many of us wanted (including me) and draft okafor.

and i still think russell is giong to be quite good. it's just not going to happen on our preferred schedule (yesterday).

The front office made the right pick. Passing on Okafor was the right call. We all joked a ton about taking Porzingis. Had we done that, Jim and Mitch would have been run out of town before the season started.

I think if people weren't so quick to dismiss Russell's actual stats, they would feel better about the pick. He's got a ways to go, but I still think he takes way too much blame for the problems with this team.

He gets too much blame. It's not his fault he doesn't have a stretch 4 and has a wing at the 3 who is on his last legs; additionally, Moz who has been completely underwhelming this season, IMO.

Starting Ingram and possibly Zu next year give Russell a wing who can facilitate allowing him to move off-ball and a pick in roll partner in Zu who sets massive screens for Russell would assist him greatly in this system.

Nah .... that was Bender, but you're right about his affinity for abnormally tall and slender young basketball players. Or am I forgetting Zinger too?

I actually pretended to like the Suns pick, but only if we traded down to get him.

    Dragan Bender

If I had predicted Porzingis, i'd be telling you about it all day every day lol.

Completely agree. I'm honestly not against going ahead and starting them at some point this season with the way things are going.

They will probably be starting next season, but I agree w/you; start giving them run this season.

He was also projected to play the same position as Julius Randle, so it wouldn't have made much sense to draft him there when we had other glaring needs on the roster.
