based on previous performance without him, people should be glad it looks like a minor injury.

his softness will earn him a place on the bench for the remainder of his contract, fulfilling the destiny of the cursed 2nd pick overall lol

Should see the fb comments on his injury report. Haters really are clueless, they think we're going to be better off w/o him

Say what you want about him, but he's one of our better floor spacers. We couldn't hit a jumper if our lives depended on it.

Yes he is one of our better floor spacers.

But he still thinks he is much better than he is.

Am I the only one that has to continually convince myself that the Lakers drafting Deangelo over Okafor was a great idea?

It was. Russell is a greater talent. But if we could turn back the clock I'd pick Porzingis, Booker or Turner.

I would take Russell over Okafor any day of the week and I wanted Okafor back then. But ya, probably Porzingis and Turner look better.

With Booker, he is a very good scorer but I'm not sure he has the allround talent to be great. He reminds me of Kevin Martin....20ppg and thats about it.

I think Booker now, at age 20, is already better than Martin ever was. The dude is averaging 26 pts on 48.4 FG% and 50.0 3P% in the month of January.

I agree. Porzingis or Turner would have been great picks, but I wasn't convinced on Turner (looks different than he did in college) and Porzingis was an unknown. No matter what Russell does going forward, he was the right pick in the context of the draft.

Top two picks in the NBA draft in 2015 have exactly 16 wins in their sophomore season. Some will interpret that in many ways. The obvious one is no one gives a hoot about Minnesota and when the Lakers lose its news like teams on a long winning streak. The fact of the matter is 19-21 year olds on young teams cant win for s***. And more often than not, their play isn't consistent. Lakers are in a pile of s*** they have to get themselves out of with no arms. It's just not realistic to think 19-20-21 year olds are going to win in a prime/mid to late 20's league of talent.

If they win 27 games this year, they will be +10 from the year before. Since you all love numbers, I'm throwing this out so you can feel better. but a 10 game improvement is pretty good for a bunch of barely legal and not legal to drink players as your core.

My only beef is Mosgov this off season. The Lakers had a stiff at center who costs much much less they could have used. And I hope it doesnt cost us a free agent in the summer of 2018.

Booker has a way to go. Season is a lot longer than a month, but he's looking great.

Can't stand Russels attitude and his lack of competitiveness. Never liked the kid. LIke someone else mentioned, he's the stereotypical entitled millennial. I'd be stoked if he was traded. That being said, I wish the kid well and hope he proves me wrong.

While I'm not sure if I'd be "stoked" if he were traded, I'm certainly fine with it now. Last season I gave him the benefit of the doubt because Byron is a douche and I felt sorry for him. But Russell actually is who he is. It wasn't rebellion against Byron. He's just a bit of a punk.
