I've been preaching patience when it comes to Russell and his development but I feel like I'm seeing evidence out there that he's not going to be a great leader on the court. So many turnovers in the clutch, and not to be harsh but a hint of selfishness me first scoring attitude as his natural fall back. I don't know that the other guys totally trust him. I think he's best suited as a two and BI seems like a more natural leader to me. This isn't meant as a rip on Russell just an observation. I still think Russell is a tremendous talent and a good asset on our team. But BI to me has more maturity and leadership qualities. His development as a ball handler and offensive initiator have been truly impressive. Add a star 2 way young wing to this core and we have ourselves a possible contender in a couple/few years.

I agree. I think it's the attitude he rolls into games with. He acts like the stereotypical "entitled" millennial. He talks a big game and then kind of goes out there and disappears, but acts like it's just one of those things and he's still the best player on the floor. The problem is he has only been the best player on the floor 3-4 times his entire career. I feel like he thinks that because he was the #2 pick and the media along with the fans were on his side last year over the head coach, he is the defacto starter. As much as I hate Boron, some of his observations of the kid seem to be coming to fruition.

I wish he would just stay healthy so we could trade him easier.

Jim is helping him save face. He knows the feeling of being totally exposed, and feels bad for him. They have a couple things in common.

Some people aren't sure either one deserve more time to get things right.

Tough break. Hopefully, it's one week instead of two.

Why what's wrong with Young? Need his offense and better D than JC on the opposing guard. Deng coming back too.

Yes . The thing with the " patience , he's young , it takes time" crowd is some of them assume it's a sure thing he will improve without a doubt .

It happens for some players and for some it never does .

For instance , Rubio jumper never improved ....

We just don't know what it is going to happen with our young players ...

Excusing everything (i.e not having the right to criticize them) because they are young is flawed
