I wouldn't start Ingram on Harden though, that's just asking for two quick fouls and an even thinner guard rotation.
Trial by fire. If there's any good time for him to learn how to defend elite play...Harden, who easily draw fouls, now's the time for him to learn to defend without fouling and learn those tendencies about those type of players.
I actually liked Luke getting thrown out. Apparently it's legal to wrestle in the NBA. Nice to see him protecting his players.
In the short term I think Luke getting tossed caused more harm than good as the team didn't respond the right way and fight hard enough. They got lost. But in the long run I think it was great in that Luke showed them that he has their back and it's important for their trust in him. Good stuff ultimately. And he was right. That move that Cousins pulled was bush league. And then later when he grabbed Lou's arm and then flopped after being "hit" was complete garbage as well. Lou is what 170 pounds soaking wet, and Cousins has a hundred pounds on him. What a terrible actor. And Lou got a T? For what? Boogie was already completely dominating us with just his sheer talent and skill out there. No need for those ridiculous antics.
Luke has also started to question this team's mentality and called them soft. Last game he said they gave in and tonight he said "if you really want a win bad, you don't shoot 60% from the FT line" and how they aren't serious about winning. Which is basically a nicer way to say what Baron Scott said with "man up and play harder". Maybe after all...this team just doesn't deserve better.
Losing games is one thing - having no defense night after night is another - so I'm glad Luke is fed up.
