That video actually started fine. The ball movement was actually nice. Then they got frustrated and Winslow should have kicked it out much sooner than he did. It's a complete breakdown of the offense due to frustration. Add to that their players aren't very good.

I think KAT is a special talent, but he's becoming a little too trigger happy with the outside shot.

agree. i don't like when big guys become three point shooters. i know it's supposed to be all the rage, but it takes them away from the offensive boards and reduces opportunities to force scrambling by the opposition after double teams. i think guys like cousins and towns camping out at the three point line is giving the opponents a break. even if they make 35% of them, there are so many other consequences to having force around the bucket on offense.

Shoutout to Atkinson for getting a team of Brook Lopez and a bunch of d leaguers playing some scrappy ball. He was on my list of potential next head coaches.

i thought whiteside's loyalty was appropriate, as miami was the team that gave him his chance, and they showed wade the door in part due to their desire to keep him.

but yeah, he'd have been better off in la, probably.

I think it's very clear now that he'd be better in LA. I mean Whiteside can do just about everything Mozgov can do. I'm not sure Whiteside is as smart a player, but Luke would get a heck of a lot out of him.

Miami is 3-8 and they really don't have a lot of top shelf talent. Dragic has taken steps back since getting that contract, boy am I happy to be wrong about that one. Winslow is taking baby steps forward, but they need more. Tyler Johnson looks pretty good, but other than that they've got a long of D-Leaguers. The worst part is they'll have only marginally more cash than we will.

they have a good coach, good location, well-respected (not deservedly) management/front office. i get why he would stay.

the issue in miami is similar to that in dallas this year, imo: they have good enough coaching and enough talented players to go on some runs later in the season, but they're both better served by drafting high this summer than by trying to scrap for wins.

I don't disagree. I think there's worse places to be (New Orleans, Sacramento, Charlotte...), I just think it's clear at this point the Lakers were the right play.

Hindsight is 20/20 though and in the summer it would have been very very difficult to make that call.

agree on hindsight, but i think his thought process seemed accurate at the time. he had miami 1 and dallas 2. in hindsight, totally wrong, but i get it.
