Got more off ball opportunities... He's way better playing this way imo ... ala Curry

Might be best game of the season from him so far. Hopefully it was a warm up for the next couple of tough games cause we're gonna need it.

There were two plays at the end where he kinda wasted a lot of the shot clock and forced up a three. One got blocked by Lopez and the other was a bad miss.

I'm not complaining though because at the time, I was absolutely convinced that he was going to hit each shot. Especially the second one I mentioned . Almost the exact scenario as last year where he hits a long dagger three to put away Brooklyn after a night of hot shooting. I thought I was experiencing deja vu and the shot was gonna be nothing but net followed by the "ice in my veins" celebration

D'Lo is gonna be a great one. Just give it some time. The way he shot that three last night looked reminiscent of Steph. It was only a matter of time.

felt like he knew he could take it to the Nets and was aggressive from the start. I wish he did this more often.

I don't know if this is just my perception, but I feel as if he makes the decision to either score or distribute before he even gets on the court. Obviously very proud that he lit up the scoreboard last night, but I'm waiting for that game where he puts it all together. He has the potential to have defenses scrambling if he mixed up scoring and distributing, because the kid has incredible stop & go instincts when it comes to that. He has these tools that could make him an incredible floor general-type PG. But for now, seems like the only way he wants to take over a game is getting on a scoring streak.

Don't get me wrong, he produces and he contributes to our early successes. One thing I'm not accounting for is what Luke is asking him to do within the team concept. But I can't help but think at times he's oddly one-dimensional when his game is tantalizingly multi-faceted.

With our upcoming schedule, he may need to do this more often.

i think he needs to get more confident in his shooting/scoring before he can really feel comfortable mixing it up. plus, given the team's offense and current pieces, matchups and opponents may dictate his mode from night to night, as sort of a by-product of design. the nets were playing soft on the perimeter early. when they came out on him, he went into the paint and made some shots and some nice passes (a few likely assists were negated by fouls, iirc).

Little things like this are HUGE! I'm so impressed with Luke. Has already exceeded my expectations (not in the win column, but impact on the team). I really thought it'd take a lot longer to fix the mess Brown / D'Antoni / Scott created. Creating a winning culture is the first step.

good on luke; you'd hope these would be natural instincts for dlo, but if they're not, the coach is who helps guide toward the proper behavior.

On a preseason game, Russell was criticized by Jon Barry for not being all there with his teammates sitting away from them or engaged with his coaches during timeouts. I don't think he's a bad individual...an odd goofball maybe.
