Young also hit some good shots... Walton and his staff spoke of how he was capable of being a good defender during training camp then somehow drilled it into his head that he is. He and Russell were dabbing it up after the game. It's time for him to regain his status as a stable influence on this team like he was two seasons ago.

Some of us here posted thoughts on how Young will revive his career under Walton...and here he is so far.

Both Nick and Lue are seriously contributing right now.

He can very well be the emotional leader out there I think. It's very contagious when he's fired up out there.

To think I wanted to trade him for a bag of chips a couple months ago.

Young when engaged has enthusiasm in droves. He has curbed his tendencies to go iso and is playing within the system. Russell is hitting Young in his shooting pocket so he does not have to work so much.

I was always of the opinion that both Nick and Lou were going to play their best as spot up shooters (still surprised at Lou creating for others), but I didn't think either one would (or could) play in a system that got them the ball in situations where they didn't have to create all the time.

^Both drew fouls on three point attempts last night. Williams has the better rounded game like you noted about his passing and his court management while Young is drawing the tougher defensive assignment.

Who is this guy? Not only that, he and Russ have some great chemistry working out there. At the moment I am not regretting keeping him, in Luke I trust.

One of my friends has hypothesized that the whole Russell-Young thing was a hoax. That Nick wanted out of his engagement with Iggy so he had the rookie "leak" a video so that all the attention would divert to D'lo as a snitch instead of Nick as a cheater.

Highly unlikely, but it's fun to think about.

It's amazing to see what a great coaching staff can do! This is the best I've ever seen Nick play, honestly. He's always been able to get red hot, but to see him playing great D, and playing great team ball is just awesome. He's been a terrific contributor to the system. Now I want to keep him!

As a personality, every team needs a guy like young....keep things loose. cant have a bunch of kobes, wanting to devour your soul after a lose. now of course winning and performing well will give him more leeway for those occasional over chucking and bricking

This is why we're making the playoffs, if healthy, especially Moz. Luke is going to pull career years out of most of these guys. Career years from a roster that is incredibly deep. Compared to most everyone else's 2nd teams ours is a juggler's knot.
