So far I'm unimpressed. I thought he was better than this, but he's had zero impact on the floor so far, including preseason. Hopefully he picks it up.

I'm pretty disappointed in him so far. He's just ok. He looks pretty slow most of the time.

Interestingly enough, he was part of all of our best lineups tonight, and had the best +/-
Is it possible some of his impact on the game doesn't show up in the individual stats?

No. His impact has been terrible. He looks like crap. And it's been like that since the first preseason game. He may be injured but I would think they would let him sit to get him right. He looked awesome last year until after the all star break. And he hasnt been right since.

Deng looks over the hill like Nash, Danny Ferry was right, except for the unnecessary racist remark:giggle:

He'll get it right, i got faith in luol. Entire team will grow and pieces will start to mesh.. playoffs or not, I've liked enough of what I seen. Staying patient and taking the lumps with the development .

He's strictly a 4 at this point of his career ... I think it's that simple

he looks out of shape, which isn't good. the shooting slump isn't helping.

i think he can defend most threes and some fours, and is still a good team defender. luke's problem is that all of his good athletes are poor team defenders (randle, clarkson, russell, to some degree young--though he's improving) and all of his good team defenders are poor athletes (mozgov, deng, metta, even huertas gets to the right spots most of the time). and maybe athlete isn't the right way to put it: all of the offensive catalysts can't play team d. that's the way to put it. ideally, deng and mozgov could help mold the rest into credible team defenders by example. that's clearly not happening yet.

ingram's the rare case that might fall into effective in both categories right now.

I'll give it time. Last year we thought Brandon Bass was terrible at the beginning of the season but then he turned it around. Deng just needs time to figure out how he can contribute without disrupting the youth.

Never know with the new CBA coming out. I bet they put that amnesty clause back in. Worked for everyone most likely.

I heard few weeks back that there wont be 1 this time, i do hope they decide differently. we do need to jettison one of deng/moz in case we have developments like gsw did and are attractive enough to draw in someone like westbrook in 2 yrs
