Nick just seems really grounded right now and in a good place.

As much crap we gave both Nick and Russell last year for what happened it's really nice and makes me smile when I see them happy for one another when they make a good play or shot.

I love the way Nick played last night.

He didn't shut down Haren, but you could tell he was concentrating on defense, and playing smart for the most part. Not chucking, but still making shots when he had the chance. Not trying to score every time he touched the ball.

He looked like the player I've been wanting him to be.

We'll need this "balanced" version of Young when one or two of the young ones get rattled if that even happens.

I like Uncle P so much more than Swaggy P.

Uncle P is a solid player.

I'm happy with everyone coming together. I'm okay with the lack of consistency as this team starts forming slowly but surely. Great win tonight.

Soon Russell and uncle will be hugging.

Clutch shooting...don't know if this pairing will ever be comfy around each other but at least they are making it work on the floor. Young has been rejuvenated with his play and has been a positive contributor at both ends.

They still call him Swaggy P on some shows but ya Uncle P comes off mature. So far Walton has been able to get him and Williams reasonable playing time without sacrificing one for the other. Williams carried the team for a bit and Young finished it off.

It looks to me like DAR and Nick are digging each other on the floor. Russ gets Nick the ball where he needs it and Nick has been high % hitting those shots giving DAR the dimes. The Team as a whole benefits. Credit Luke 100% for getting the best out of both of them in what for all appearances was a hopeless situation and lost and wasted talent with Nick.

Right? It went from almost trading either Nick and DAR, to really good chemistry.

The funny part is that though it seems Nick is over the whole situation (at least from what we've seen), some players around the league (*washed up Brandon Jennings cough*) haven't.

From pre season where he didn't give DAR a high five cause he wanted to show love and had his eyes set on the bench area...to yesterday, they're one big moment/shot away from extreme joy and a fat chest bump should squash the last of it.

Kudos to Young more so for being able to find success and able to play alongside Russell without affecting his play.

    Everything happens for a reason.

What's most encouraging to me is the fact that he's got an option next year and I've gone from thinking "damnit, we're stuck with him and no one will want him in a trade" to being happy that he'll likely be around next year too. Also he now has some worth in a trade, not that one will present itself but you never know. He could help pad a youth for a superstar deal though I doubt a worthy one presents itself soon. Our youth are still too young to get max value.

All 3 are done or can opt out after the '17-'18 season.
