Honestly, I'm not sure what anyone's disagreeing about now except for when a person's name comes up.

If BI is "only" Tayshaun Prince, that's a disappointment. But Prince was a hell of a ball player. Four time all-D second team, over 30,000 minutes in his career, and he was a solid third or fourth option on O. If Ingram ends up being all-nba 2nd team with solid defense (like the opposite of Prince), we'd be in pretty good shape. Not KD good, but that would be good.

I think some people got the idea that it was his ceiling.

I'm okay agreeing to disagree, but I can't see how you look at the evidence I posted and say you don't see any similarity. That doesn't compute.

The stats I just posted show pretty empirically that they're similar. That's not to say they always will be. That's not to say Ingram can't be better (I've made it clear I think he will be), but I don't think anyone can look at the evidence I provided and say honestly that they don't at least see the similarity or the argument that I presented.

Is Julius Randle similar to Carlos Boozer? :)

Mommy and Daddy give you 10 dollars to run a lemonade stand. So you go out and buy lemons and cups and a sign and you come to find out it only cost 8 dollars. Next year when you have a lemonade stand you'll be six and you'll ask for money to start a lemonade stand again and Mommy and Daddy will only give you 8 dollars because they think that's how much it costs. So you have to find a way to spend your 2 dollars so Mommy and Daddy think it costs 10 dollars to run a lemonade stand.

So this is a surplus. Yes.

And yes Prince and Ingram are at least comparable even if you (or anyone) thinks they're ultimately different.

Pippen? I would be guessing to compare their games because I don't know where Pippen's physical edges likely ended. I'd start by guessing him quicker and more explosive with the fast twitch factor. But that's it. That last game against the best team in the league was his coming out party. Wonderful talent .... sky's the limit if he can stay healthy.

Pippen was, and still is, one of my absolute favorite players. The man could do it ALL. I also consider him one of the 3 best individual defenders ever: Pippen, Rodman, Robinson (with Dikembe getting a mention, but not making the cut - different discussion).

Pippen, however, was a much more complete player than Rodman, or Wallace, or Tony Allen, or Prince, or even Iguadala.

Top 50 all time, HoF. 6 titles (Mike has, IMO, 0 without him). Taking his team to ECF, and nearly Finals, the next year MJ retired for the fist time.

I wish Brandon became 1/2 Pippen. We'd be looking at the dynasty.

Pippen had a slight build when he came into the league. Not quite BI slight, but slight enough. He also had those pterodactyl arms. Read D and O very well. Could shoot a little (BI is a better shooter already) and could play PG (not at first, immediately).

You forgot the Glove, but I agree with the rest. So underrated. If they give him the credit he deserves, they think it takes away from Jordan, so he's largely forgotten.

Pippen was great, no denying his greatness was overshadowed by MJ, but he went on to show it without him while he was retired and for other teams like the Blazers. That said, Pippen was an a-hole, and he played like it/used it to fuel his game IMO, I'm not sure Ingram has that personality.
