Can you imagine the horror and damage done to his development if Boron the a-hole was still running things ..... into the ground around here?

Haha Jerry West still has love for the purple and gold. Good game from Ingram. He's definitely getting his legs under him. He gets the minutes he just might be in the running for ROY.

At this point it's probably Jerry simply having love for what 19 year old Brandon Ingram is showing out there as a player already. Who wouldn't?? The Lakers probably not so much any more. Though if Ryan were to be promoted to GM when Mitch retires or Jeanie fires Jim and him, undoubtedly he will have honest help from his dad in doing well following in his footsteps.

It's easy to root for a good kid like Brandon Ingram.

If it was Ben Simmons, we would have seen the grumpy face come out.

That might be his J. Randle look per anecdotal reports.

My understanding is that he's not "anti-Lakers" but he certainly doesn't feel a great deal of loyalty either. There's some nostalgia, but that's not the way Jerry ticks. I'm sure his son working here has a massive amount of why he's rooting for Ingram. If Ingram pans out, that's another feather in the cap for his own son.

As for the "Prince who?" comment on the previous page... that is exactly the kind of thing we just saw. People saying he's more like Prince than Durant are validated by last night's performance. Durant would have taken 20 shots if he was handling the ball and made probably 9 of them. The fact that Ingram consistently makes the right TEAM decision is precisely what "Prince" advocates are saying in the first place.

Good game out of him. I'm glad to see he's shooting well, but that'll be streaky as a rookie. What impressed me more was his ability to read the defense is improving rapidly. That pump fake and step into a mid-range jumper was perfect. He's been able to draw two defenders. He's starting to see angles and driving/passing lanes better. Those are all the things I took moreso even than the shooting effort.

He's going to be very good, and I'm probably understating that...it's going to be fun watching him grow.

totally agree realdeal... I will say that his skill set is more like Durant's. I think he is more of a natural scorer than Prince, Ingram has some tools to take over a game offensively. But yes, his tendencies and decision making are along the lines of Prince, which I think is a huge compliment to both players. Tayshaun may have not been as gifted offensively as Ingram or Durant, but his bball IQ was very high.

He's already better than Paul George during his rookie showing.

LOVED the creative thinking in using him as a point forward. i didn't like watching him stand in the corner during practices and in some of the preseason games, but i didn't think he'd do so well initiating the offense, either.

he's really putting things together quickly; seems like he's improving incrementally by the game. good stuff.

The offense can go through BI from the bench, and he can develop from there. Guys like Clarkson and Lou are capable enough to play off the ball and still get their reps in. It's more about the advantage that BI possesses for his size and ability.

What's going to be interesting is when BI develops enough to start, how that'll factor in with Russ. It may end up being an OKC situation with two alphas.

I don't see the Prince comparison at all. Prince was a good spot up shooter and incredible defensively, but he isn't the playmaker that Ingram has shown he can be and can't create off the dribble or have the offense run through him like with Brandon.

20 shots? Nah. Ingram is playing in a new system as opposed to isolating a lot like he did at Duke and he's just now getting his feet wet. Don't see how it validates the Prince comment which I don't understand how anyone who's watched the guy play could make that comparison they're not even close in terms of talent, ability, or skill.

    Slowly but surely young fella.
This kid is easy to root for, he plays within the team and just looked so smooth out there today. And having his development in the hands of this coaching staff instead of previous years is going to be great!

He's almost a clone of Prince, but with a higher ceiling.

It seems that Luke is starting to figure this out already. Use Ingram as a playmaker sometimes, put the ball in his hands and good things will happen. DAR is not a pure point anyway and he could maybe use some help from time to time.
