Smooth game from a smooth player... Even high fives himself on occasion.

BTW, DA's averaging 20 and 4.5 in only 30 MPG. He'll probably play more minutes, so I think he can do it. If he can hit those numbers this season, he'd be in rather company. Only 12 dudes did it last year: Curry, Durant, Russ, Haren, LBJ, Lowry, Kemba, Isaiah, Dame, Jimmy Butler, Blake, and Bledsoe. Throw in 1.8 steals, and we're at only Curry, Russ, Lowry, and Bledsoe.

One more. since 1964, only 62 Lakers have scored 30+ points in a game. Only 49 have done it more than once. This include DA, JC, and Lou. If DA can do it 6 times this season, he'll be tied for 18th among Lakers - with Bynum, Eddie Jones, and Cazzie Russell. DA has done it twice in the preseason already.

One more one more: he's on pace to hit over 200 threes. His three-point rate would put him 4th in the NBA for makes.

OK I'll buy it then. Screw him. Don't go there DAR. LB will not be happy with you and trust me you do NOT want to get on sirron's bad side.

Did he say what you said he said, or did you flip Okafor and Russell here by mistake? :KobeConfused:

Yeah sorry my apologies. Stephen A said you don't draft Russell over Okafor.

Stephen A. Smith is an increasingly irrelevant relic of the worst parts of sports journalism.

I expect this to translate into the season. A breakout season from Russell would really help us moving forward...

Yeah his down games seem to come against elite point guards, Lillard and Curry so far. I'd like to see if he can rebound and go at Curry a little bit in the next game. I know it'll take time but he's gotta learn not to shrink back in these types of matchups.

I'm expecting there to be an adjustment for Russell now that defenses can focus more on him with Kob retired. Most 20 year olds aren't ready to be the number one option so I would anticipate that it's gonna take some time. Still like you said at some point this season Russell need some to show he can be more consistent against the elite point guards in this league.

He'll be fine. The Summer League and Preseason are night and day from where he was at last season at this time. Typically, young players don't break out until their 3rd year, but I do expect him to look like a star at times and there will be other instances where he looks like a 20 y/o second-year point guard, and that's fine.

Russell is really playing well, stoked to see him coming along and ever since that bad first game he's looked like a real leader out there to me.

I wish he were just a shooting guard.
