The dream shake is something Randle should be working on moreso than Zu. He has the appropriate footspeed to make it work.
I actually think Zu has to work on EVERYTHING. He really doesn't have any physical limitation and with training he can become a much better athlete.
Yeah that was more wishful thinking there but Julius needs to get that .362 on 3-10ft shots up there before applying moves like the shake. But agreed, he'd be great at the move itself. Zu has actually got quick feet for a guy that size...he closes really quick.
I think he's got all the tools to use that hook viably. It's a heck of a lot closer to a Sky Hook than anything I think I've seen thus far. The problem is learning proper positioning, footwork, and then getting the proper arc on the ball. That stuff takes time. I hope he continues working at it.
He's not really palming the ball on the hook, kinda swings it to the basket. The form is there, but if he can palm it, and flick the wrist at the crest of the hook, that's the true sky hook. He got pushed around by Nurkic last night, which is good to see because he's going to need to start working on building his strength.
More wrist is needed, but he's getting there for sure. Re: Nurkic, these guys speak the same language, so there might have been some trash talk going on last night. But I hope he asked Jusuf about his workout routine and getting stronger in general. He needs all the help he can get.
Zu is really a true novice at it... He's still a kid for all intensive purposes, a precocious one at that. The positives Zu has going for him are a good touch with his shot, very good court awareness and is sure of himself while still developing into his body.
"He's still a kid for all intensive purposes" Before trodgers gets to you and makes you feel bad(ly) over your language skills .... doing you a favor here. Dummy. He's still a kid for all intents and purposes" Then again you could plead spell check and you hesitated around "inten" for that fatal second so it kicked in. We'd have to believe you.
That was what I have in mind...but could not think of the proper phrase. Thanks for having my back. LOL! It's not language but semantics. >
Needs to get stronger in his upper body still, obviously that will come with time... But I'm digging his craftiness, just needs to keep getting minutes and NBA experience.
Yeah aside from the form on the shot I haven't seen many mention this: he's made the right reads on when/where to take the shot. He feels where the defense is and goes to the opposite shoulder. The fact he has the reads down already is encouraging. The form will come with practice. Zubac really seems to have a natural feel for the game he just needs to catch up to NBA athleticism.
