Russell looks like a guy who could average 20 points a game this year. I don't even recognize him compared to what he was last season. Just looks so much more comfortable out there. In Summer League and so far in pre-season he just looks better than everyone else.

D'Lo looks a lot better than last season so I guess you'd say a 10 on that one. Right now I'd say he's an above average point guard because he hasn't played any real games yet in his second season, but I fully believe he could have a great season and go from above average to borderline All Star level.

Considering this is just his second year, he looks like he'll be a star in this league sooner rather than later. But still.... I want to see him up against Portland and GS before I call it

He has a long ways to go before receiving any 'star' moniker. It's the preseason. He has looked good in SL and the preseason so far, and I love Russell, but let's see it translate to wins in the regular season before we title him anything, IMO.

I keep my expectations in check because learning the PG position at 20 in his second year is a difficult task and more difficulties will await...

Whew, what a difference a couple games can make! I was bummed after his terrible first game performance but he's been doing extremely well since then. Count me in as thinking Lou Williams isn't making his life easier in the starting unit instead of Clarkson who he has a much better rapport with. But we'll see if that continues into the season in terms of lineups. Regardless, nice to see DLO upping his game and showing us what we had hoped for. Phenomenal game last night.

to clarify, i wasn't saying that he's definitely a star, just that it's now fairly clear that he can be a guy around which you can focus on offense. the same is probably true of say, rudy gay (at least younger versions) or monta ellis. so, it doesn't mean you're a star or that a team with you as its best player will be a good one, but it does mean something.

I'm not sure how soon he'll be a star, but his midrange game is freakin deadly.... like Top 5 in the league deadly.

to be fair Curry was very average the first 3-4 years in the league and wasn't nearly the PG he is now with his ability to see the floor and make great passes. Russell going into only his 2nd year we have to feel very optimistic because I know he'll eventually figure out how and when to be aggressive and still get his teammates great looks like Curry even if it takes another 2-4 years.

I don't think he's giving Russell the star moniker just yet just saying that D'Angelo looks like he will be one eventually in the league and I don't disagree.
