Sorry to quote myself but I'm really curious. Does anyone know what that tat on Luke's left bicep actually says and is about?
Here is one take lol https://captfact.wordpress.com/2011/01/03/he-asked-for-a-13-but-they-drew-a-31/ 1. Luke Walton’s Mnemonic Tattoo Scenario #1: Sometimes Luke Walton forgets his own name. Fortunately he’s got the words “Little Wheats” on his left biceps. Little Wheats … L.W. … my name is Luke Walton! Apparently his area code is there too, just in case. Don’t know what the JP is for, though. Scenario #2: Luke has millions of dollars, but he’s a true romantic at heart. And he wants to be able to find that very special someone who he can be certain doesn’t love him for his money. So he gets the most embarrassing tattoo in the world, guaranteeing that all of the gold diggers run away screaming, leaving only true love behind. Scenario #3: Loves to hear his father say “That’s TERRIBLE!” and found the perfect way to get it out of him on a daily basis.
No Silly, ROFY is Luke Walton's Dad. Back in the CL days it happened. He and Susie were just great friends but then one hot, slow day .... boom!! .... it just happened. The force was with them.
I've noticed in interviews that Luke is dancing around the topic of how inexperienced our young players are. There are things they should know by the time they make it to the NBA, and they don't. With his upbringing, NBA dad, 4 years at AZ, i'm sure it can be a little frustrating having to teach the basics instead of advance strategy a team like GS was ready for. Byron's approach was to insult them for not knowing, but Luke is taking the time to teach instead. Might cause some drinking in the short term, but it will pay off in the long term. Hang in there Luke!
At least he's addressing them versus just insulting the players for not knowing the basics after leaving college so early. The bench doesn't teach, coaches do.
I couldn't be happier with our coaching staff. I'm so pleased. It feels like Lakers' ball again, finally. First time since Phil. As I said before and will say again, the FO got this one completely right. Luke is a natural fit as a head coach and his knowledge of the game and good spirit and attitude are perfect for developing our young team. I also love having Brian Shaw back in the fold who I also feel has a great attitude and wisdom. We have nowhere to go but up, so I'm just thrilled about our present and future with Luke and his staff at the helm. It's such a massive difference to the last several years.
Luke was so bad as a player in his final years (mostly due to injuries, I'll give him that), but man... he's born to be a coach. And he can only get better, considering he just started.
