sure, but it's an odd first step, imo. particularly if defense has been the mantra and clarkson has been a standout in that regard.
Here we go again Boron...oh wait Luke's coach, this is probably a smart move and its good to try this stuff out now.
Do all the experimenting in preseason. Maybe coming off the bench he will have more opportunities with the ball in his hands.
i think the key here is how communicative has luke been with clarkson about this. i'm guessing quite, as opposed to his predecessor, who simply relied on the wood for hard truths delivered to the butt.
the first preseason game is exactly the time to do something like this. it tells me that Luke doesn't believe it will ultimately the best fit, but he may as well try it out. he's just exploring possibilities and if it doesn't work then they go to the expected starting backcourt as we had previously assumed.
He's good, and his defense looked improved. Don't get cute, Luke, he's a starter. Lou is a bench spark, JC needs to be starting next to Russ and I think that helps Russ too as they play well together.
Luke was experimenting. I'd rather have this now than 20 games into the regular season. There is probably going to be some more mixing and matching in the starting lineup and bench units. That said, JC needs to be starting. That's obvous. He's our best player and has more size to guard the 2's in this league.
Yeah, I mentioned last night that somewhere early on Boron was popping champagne and laughing his a** off. Lou starting, Russell still no ESPN Sports Science dude like we all saw before drafting him and down by 19 points in the 2nd half. But the Team and the new Coach and especially Tarik Boom Boom Black made him eat bleep before he went to bed. Eeeeeesh!!!
I think they're showcasing Williams right now for a potential trade, hence he started. I'll be very surprised if he's on the team for the opening game.
