To be perfectly fair, Kobe did this before the Pau blessing and if it weren't for his no trade clause he would have been in CHI. But in the end, the good prevailed and everyone, Kobe and the Fans were rewarded
Touche... After the furor died down, from what I can recall that 2008 team was doing well prior to the Gasol trade. Then the Bynum injury occurred, Gasol came on board and it's off they went from there.
Always respected Timmy. Loved the way he played the game. No flash but still solidly effective. Didn't try to show you up either, just went about his business and dominated.
2 Incredible Stats I heard/saw today: 1) Duncan has more NBA Playoff victories that 24 NBA teams do in there history 2) Duncan is the only player in NBA history to win a NBA title in 3 different decades. Speaks to his and the Spurs consistent greatness
A class act all the way. Perfect timing for Duncan to step down. The writing was on the wall in last season's playoffs where he was a shell of himself. He was done. Father Time = still undefeated. Duncan is top 10 for me, but towards the bottom not the top where I have Kobe. He's an ALL TIME great.
To me the Spurs have always been a team I could not hate, but admired their professionalism, cohesiveness, teamwork, coaching, and results. He represents the best things in a great situation, and deserves all the props he gets. Nothing but respect for doing things "the right way".
Duncan won in the most boring fashion I have ever seen...and will take seven days a week, twice on Sundays. Can't say the same about his fashion choices, however.
