I like what I'm seeing from Russell but it's summer league. I will temper my expectations until I see this in the regular season.

What I'm VERY encouraged about though is that our coaching is going to be WAY BETTER than last year. That out of bounds play to get D-LO open was executed to perfection and reminded me of some of the sets that San Antonio, Boston, GS, teams like that have ran and we could only WISH we could run a set like that.

Oh how sweet it is to not have Boron on the sidelines with his arms crossed....

If you crouch down on screens, your partner may have a problem taking it to the hole?

if you're too loose, you're going to allow penetration; if you're too tight, you run the risk of squeezing out your own team member.

    so there's that.

Russell took the game upon himself in the second so he can sit most of the third and all of the fourth. One play stood out to me was when Fall threw the ball away on a rebound. Russell went over to let his teammates know that it is OK...forget it and keep playing. Small acts that lead to larger ones. He was also stoic and matter of fact during the interview after the game.

Barry praised Russell for still directing the players on the floor at the end of the bench. He did add that Russell should have done more...engaging the rest of the squad and sitting in with the coaches soaking in strategy. Truth be told, he was at the end of the bench to sit with the popular Zu. Russell wanted to stay at the Zu. Real talk...

I confess I don't know anything about that show or the character here, but it did look cool.
