Completely telling statement in article above on what it was like playing for Boron the a-hole.

"Walton is excited to work with Russell, and the feeling is mutual. Asked what he would change the most with Walton at the helm instead of Scott, Russell couldn’t help but let some of his frustration with Scott’s system leak out."

“Being a point guard,” he said. “Guidance in being a point guard. Not just getting thrown out there, saying, ‘Run this team.’ Just the guidance. I feel the guidance is there.”

Trial by fire, no communication of correcting mistakes, forcing to defer to kobe beyond reason, and giving a quick hook for any mistake =\= coaching. Thank god he's gone.

Yes, the smugness of haters is starting to disappear when talking about the Lakers. While still a ways to go the road is much clearer.

All that ice in his veins means that he doesn't thaw out till the 4th quarter.

But when he does. Would look for him to be calm and in control from the start of games since he is the engine driving the team.

I don't care if it was summer league, he gave us a nice Laker moment, which have been few and far between.

Definitely caught that. You can tell he feels 180 degrees different than he felt with Byron. I mean the kid just looks and acts differently. He is having fun and his cockiness comes out a bit, but with Luke it's much healthier. Byron just had no concept at all on how to reach Russell.

Loved reading that hunger at the end. I hope he can stay that way for a long time.

So, if D'Angelo hits a game winner in a playoff game that ends a series, can you imagine the frost that will create?

Was at the game on Saturday. DLO was so vocal throughout the game. Consistently talking to everyone on the team in timeouts and on the floor. The game was crazy though. One of the best Laker atmospheres I have ever experienced. At multiple moments throughout the game there were "LARRY, LARRY, LARRY" chants. He even got a MVP chant at the free throw line. Those shots at the end by Russell were amazing. The whole place went nuts. Such a great way to spend that Saturday. I would suggest it to all of you here. Also, like DLO said in the interview. That was a really great play. It almost looked like DLO was going to be the decoy because he didn't move for so long and then BOOM! I f-ing loved that game!

Just remember Boron's philosophy came from Ivan Drago.
