Nice interview, I don't think he comes here if Byron is here. The way he talked about the conversation with Luke, seemed like he really appreciated it.

Interesting that his contract dips a bit in the 2nd season. Lakers anticipating needing an extra million next summer?

The cap is going to be lower than anticipated next season.

I posted it somewhere around here: 102 million. Down from the expected 107-110 million! Wow.

The max contracts will be roughly 24/28.5/34 or something like that. Pincus had more official numbers. Right now we have about 16 million free, and maybe 13 million or so expiring. With the 10 million dollar cap jump we'll have more than enough room to add a max contract in there. Heck just to make sure we've also got Lou on an expiring 7 million dollar deal.

Confirmation. Mozgov's deal isn't official yet so no word as of this moment. Probably all guaranteed though.

If there is anyone I would be comfortable taking over Derek Fisher's number it would be Luol Deng

How do y'all think Deng would fare, against Draymond/Griffin/Kanter/etc if we go small?

He broke down in the end playing PF, even thought he played really well there. Let's hope he doesnt have to guard centers.

I think he'd do fine against Draymond, but Griffin and Kanter will overpower him over time.

Yes. Small ball is based upon matchups. Deng will play the 4 when teams go small or when its most advantageous for Luke to take advantage of another team

IMO, he'd only have to do so for some stretches, at times.

The key to small ball though with people like Black,Nance and Deng.. Will be simply to hold it down enough on the defensive side of the ball, where you force the other team to be in a position where they have to go small as well. but, no matter if they stay big or go small, were still being more efficient&our bigs are getting their rest. Pretty much were always controlling the tempo.

It won't be too different from the GS small ball lineup. Go small and then swarm them. After a year or two a lineup of Russell/Clarkson/Ingram/Deng/Randle or Nance Jr. is going to be absolutely deadly in small ball especially if those last two guys can knock down a three with any consistency. If they can knock down threes with consistency, then that lineup is brutal. They've got good length, good speed, athleticism, and everyone from 1-5 can grab the ball and push it up court.

I agree one hunnit! But,but... What about our boy Tar-tar, I just wanna see him put that fresh, powerful body on people. That's the beauty as well about our small future small ball line up.

That's 4 other people on the floor that are possible of creating their own shot(consistency should go up just from the constant spacing) , which makes his lack of offensive game not as vital and they can actually utilize his strengths to the max. Also, because of the system, it allows to take advantage(hopefully) of having more freedom and space in the paint which hopefully that itself improves his offensive game;things he does do well.

I don't think they give him the 6 million if this isn't atleast their mindset of thinking.

I cant wait to see this guy motivated to uplift us and honestly, he must be excited to become more of a focal point on offense(best offensive system hes been in?) compared to his ex-teams.
